I personally wish to see Zoro and Luffy rematch with Kaido in parallel with Kids and Law vs BM; then ZKK after.

It is undeniable that there are many hints that ZKK should happen.

Despite those hints, after the rooftop he seems to give up and leave the rest to Luffy.
In addition, his body has a time bomb and he needs to fight King due to useless Marco.

If you are watching the anime, Toei is making it very hard to NOT believe in ZKK .

There is a strong possibility, there are many hints in wano and punk hazard. Its interesting the way Oda introduced a dragon and have luffy and zoro tag team against it. The next chapter (657) is named severed head.

But then again this doesn't mean Oda will necessarily parallel this in Wano. That would be too obvious.

ZKK isn’t even really about Zoro killing Kaido anymore, it’s a celebration of the truly magnificent, world-beating feats the swordsman is picking up left and right in this arc. Hell, Zoro is now the only other person in the entire world, throughout however long Kaido’s been alive, that left a scar on the World’s Strongest Creature while unconsciously showing off his CoC!! Slaying the dragon would really just be icing on the cake at this point, but the fact that it could feasibly happen AND make sense in the narrative speaks for itself
