Powers & Abilities Do you think Oda planned haki since chapter 1 ?

I know Shanks used it against the sea king‚ but do you think when Oda drew that‚ did he had haki in mind to be introduced in the future or it was like ' shanks is so strong he can intimidate sea kings' but haki was never the plan until later.

Characters like Crocodile who went against Whitebeard and Lucci who was CP9 not mentioning haki or seemingly using it once ( maybe cause they weren't against a logia) implies it wasn't set as a concept yet

Let's say he didnt.
Then he retconned a few things and created this power system because he thought "non-DF" people should have something special to fight some OP DF's. The power is bad explained, but meh. Could be worse.

Let's say he did.
Then he, in 1000+ chapters, managed to fuck up the explanation of something he had planned since the freaking beginning. How incompetent do you have to be to fuck it up this much?

Pick your poison. In the end, both scenarios are bad. :)

I truly believe that, if Haki was planned from the start, Kairouseki wouldn't be a thing.

I would rather it be that he never planned it before enies lobby‚ and Shanks intimidating look and Enel's mantar were just to be special powers that he later added to the haki concept that he decided to use after Enies Lobby

More proof is yes Ace and Smoker's df cancel each other‚ but if Ace is a haki user‚ then why not just armament smoker ! Pretty sure whitebeard's second commander wasn't haki-less and just depending on df advantages like pre skip gearless luffy

Definitely planned it pre-time skip for sure. We have hints of in alabasta(crocodile even mentioning about something which we now know is Haki against Luffy's fight), but he failed using it properly.
I would rather there was no Haki at all and battles were much more interesting and clever(or at least matchups were done in such a way the fights won't be impossible) when fighting with DF instead. Even DFs right now doesn't matter much in fights other than just adding differentiate attacks(just see how lame Kids attack or take Law like why should we care about him doing countershock to BM? seems like oda is just adding attacks without much thought to it with regards to DF), Haki is pretty much more important now and even that is boring when you think about the fight itself.

Without haki‚ it will be almost impossible to beat someone like Law
