Yeah, it was definitely too long, though I would definitely have liked to see more concrete top tier action, if anything. Like seeing a bit of Rocks in action, and Roger of course, just a few panels more, and I would have enjoyed the final battle to be more than two strikes. But Oda typically likes to impress by being minimalistic or understating, and leaves any major fighting to the main fights of the arc, and the fact that Kaido was hurt by the swords was supposed to be enough to impress readers, given his reputation of invincibility, and show what a Samurai Oden was. Although the main point was clearly on his final ending, which being the weirdest part, Oda clearly delighted in the most. I found it was effective, although defnitely went on too long overall...
