General & Others Do you think Zoro Vs Mihawk will live up to the hype?

I already have issues with Egghead arc so far. Some of them:
- Vegapunk is a massive clown and disgrace
- I don't like this traitor plot at all. York thinks she would actually become a CD lmao
- Luffy and Zoro not using advanced conqueror's yet, feels like a cheap way to extend the arc and buy time until Kizaru and Saturn arrive


But I'll wait to see how it ends.
Have some hope for the Garp plotline, and Kizaru/Saturn arrival.

I think Vegapunk is perfect, but I can see how you can be disappointed.
I was expecting him to be either a mad scientist or a genious detached from reality, so the latter proved to be true.
The traitor plot for me is serviceable and makes sense, feeds into the whole "genious but deluded" character of Vegapunk.

Third point I understand.

Longest and hardest fight for Zoro, some cool feats, probably some master/student or rival/rival talk, ending clash like at the Baratie but reversed result and both leave with a smile. Maybe XD.

No, for 2 reasons.

#1 - Oda is physically incapable of giving a non-luffy fightlots of panel time. This fight needs 3 chapters worth of full focus.

#2 - Mihawk has no hype, no feats, and he's Zoro's master. It's the lamest setup for a conflict; and I don't give a damn what they do with that plotline. I'd rather someone else kill Mihawk beforehand.

Given that Zoro is ranked n2 character worldwide it will be a great fight yes.

Dont gonna say the best of all but when the manga ends i think it will be at least among the top5 battles of the story.

To be honest, I think Shiryu kills Mihawk. No way the Blackbeard Pirates are depicted as better versions of the Straw Hats and Shiryu will be a scrub if Zoro's top tier at the end.

1) Mihawk needs to take out someone like Fujitora low diff to establish just how OP he is supposed to be.
2) Mihawk will need to show a sinister side. Perhaps injuring Franky gravely. There needs to be something at stake.

If these requirements are fulfilled it might be one of the series best fights ever.

It can't be mutual respect or master vs student at 85 %. We've seen Shanks and BB do outrageous stuff. It's time for Mihawk to get similar feats.

The only candidates good enough as hype tools are admirals, Shanks, BB, Sabo and Dragon. Shanks did Aramaki in and Fujitora hates Shichibukai so he is the most likely candidate. Kuzan would do as well but there is no connection. Kizaru has Egghead plotline. Akainu is in his office.
