Doflamingo was originally planned to use by Oda in Wano Arc as well not only in Dressrosa, Doflamingo was going to be Kaido's ''powerful ally'':

Oda: ''By the way, in Dressrosa Doflamingo being called “Joker” is a remnant of an initial idea where Doflamingo was going to fight as a powerful companion of Kaido in the Wano Country. He’s quite the tricky opponent, so I’m glad we got rid of him at Dressrosa!!''
Oda probably planned to make Doflamingo escape when Jack attacked the Marine ships, but he changed his plans for some reason by making Fujitora and Sengoku guarding the ship, obviously Jack couldn't do anything with 2 Admirals guarding Doflamingo.

Perhaps Oda is planning to use Doflamingo in the Final Saga instead of Wano, which is why he changed his plans.

I wouldn't say no to Doflamingo returning as BB's underling tbh,

A prisoner exchange between ''Hero'' Koby and Doflamingo? If Hero Koby isn't enough then maybe Koby + Law for Doflamingo if Law loses? That's a very solid offer if it happens.

It would be also funny if Celestial gives Doflamingo his Celestial Dragon privileges back for the final battle to use him vs. Pirates, and that would make Doflamingo Akainu's superior all of a sudden.

That would be very good because Blackbeard would gain information about the sacred treasure hidden from the world in Mary Geoise in return...

I can't see the WG giving up Doffy in any scenario now that they have him in their grasp. I feel that they will have him assassinated because he knows too much, they only tolerated him because he was useful to their schemes. But we see that WG is desperately eliminating any loose ends like Vegapunk so why keep Doffy alive especially when they very likely have his Seraphim Clone running around somewhere. I wouldn't mind seeing him in the manga one more time to see his reactions and possibly interact with Imu or something but that's it, I had enough of him, thinking about him gives me nightmares reading the manga back then lol.
We need the BB Pirates to shine and rise from the rest of the villains in One Piece.

Cuz they obviously just got established and they need time to prep lol.
Mihawk was already in Paradise, and he could solo Impel Down by himself lol. Croc could have planned to meet up with Mihawk and storm Impel Down while the Marines are distracted with the Warlords and Reverie, but Croc instead chose to rescue Buggy lol. He doesn’t care about Doffy. He said as much at MF when he told Doffy he has no interest in becoming partners
