Character Discussion Does Shanks know about his family, and how much does he know?

I think shanks is aware of his family, Roger met one at god valley seemingly enough. Would be out of Roger’s character to hide that fact from him.
Why no one else knows? I feel like the existence of the god knights is known, but their faces not so much because it seems like if they show up there’s likely going to be a genocide.

I have wondered it too and mentioned it a bit
I think Shanks may or may not know himself, however here is a possibility:
Dragon knows about the knights and told Shanks about it as a sign of friendship hoping Shanks could help him in the future
And the world may not know about the knights or if they do, they may not know their identities
And TAC is a penguin 🐧

If Shanks knows the question is how did he find out?
Of any pirate Shanks is the one who would probably be most aligned with the revolutionary army, and that doesn't say much compared to Big Mom and Blackbeard and Kaido, but in my opinion if the time is right for it Shanks may help them

I'm onna guess he does......but i think he learned about it much after Roger's era as he was just a kid, and roger probably wouldn't just go and kidnap a CD's kid lol ( in the sense that if he knew he was a CD's kid he wouldn't just want to smoke with them and try to give him back somehow )

Jokes aside i think after he became famous and his wanted poster started to spread the Figarland family figured out who he was and got in touch with him though i also assume he rejected them and chosed to stay free.....

Im guessing yes, and Im even sure he's encountered Shamrock during his life. I fully expect Scopper (assuming this is the person on Elbaf) to explain Shanks' backstory, which means Roger knew, which means Shanks should know

That game they play was stated to be a secret except for those involved (that did inlude a few lowly marines) and they were surprised Rocks and Roger found out.
They could just lie about whatever happened to those islands, and there weren't any witnesses left to talk about holy knights or whatever.
One Piece is not the modern world where you can film anything with your smartphone, and the media is just a newspaper written but some albatross.
The real frauds here are the marines that did know everything and helped the Tenryubito carry it out.

Hell, I feel like there will be a bunch of plot holes surrounding this whole thing. It's useless to debate for now cause we have almost no information. I just have a feeling that he knows, but it's only a feeling. There are so many questions to ask tho.
First I entertained the idea that Shanks cried cause Roger told him that he was a CD. Then I asked myself how would Roger know that Shanks is CD? Did Roger find out during God Valley? Or did he think that Shanks' appearance reminds him of Garling? Did Roger pirates try to search for his parents? How and when did Roger pirates connect the dots? Did Garling try to take Shanks back? Is there a third party who, perhaps, could inform Roger pirates? Why was Shanks put in the chest in the first place?
Another possibility is that Shanks found out later. Did Garling even know that Shanks was with Roger pirates or nah? If he didn't he prolly saw Shanks' poster and went "hell, he looks exactly like me and Shamrock, I also happen to have a long lost son, guess it's him". Later Figarlands approached him and tried to get him to join CDs.
Edit: or they went "ew, he was touched by dirtycommoners and pirates, we should kill him so he doesn't disgrace our name".

So no other west blue country trades with God valley has any diplomatic or economic ties with them at all? No one noticed that the celestial dragons were coincidently moving near that island at all before everyone died? And yeah, not a single member of the marines who were present at any of these games ever decided to leak anything,even though we know of literal CIPHER POL members who have become pirates. And the bird who reports the news talks about whatever is the most hype,including publishing about Roger finding an insane treasure at the end of the grand line. Somehow the WG can't stop him from publishing that, but they can stop him from talking about a genocide. Please stop trying to me sense of something that doesn't make sense. Logically if this was a thing that had been happening in the OP world, we would have learned about this in like 2002, not 2022
