Questions & Mysteries Does Toki's prophecy matter?

who are the "9 shadows" meant to be? people were saying that it had to do with the number of fighters that would take down kaido but that's debunked. People were saying the 9 shadows are the scabbards but i dont see how they resolved anything?

I always read it as 9 Shadows = Scabbards

Moon = Orochi/Kaido as they've stopped the dawn and cast a shadow over Wano.

Dawn = Luffy the sun here to move the moon and bring dawn to the land of wano
The moon was symbolic of the wano people as that’s who she was giving th prophecy to;:
“You are the moon unaware of the dawn. May your purpose be fulfill and cast nine shadows on a night woven in twenty years and you shall know the brilliance of dawn.”

Basically telling the Wano people that their wish will come true, they just don’t know that the new day is coming “the moon unaware of the dawn” and May the moons purpose be fulfilled

It matters a lot.
We were reminded of the prophecy multiple times, even as recently as a couple chapters ago ("Believe in Toki's words"). It is specifically supposed to represent Wano-kuni being genuinely free from Kaido & Orochi and all of the tragedies that the people have suffered.

However, I think the whole "9 shadows = 9 scabbards" stuff is a big red herring. Upon hearing the prophecy for the first time, we were specifically told that Orochi feared that the prophecy referenced the scabbards. It would be incredibly anti-climactic for the 9 shadows to actually end up being the scabbards...and only slightly less anti-climactic if it's just some of the scabbards + Momo, Shinobu & Hiyori LMAO.

It's already weird that the prophecy did not come alongside Luffy's defeat of Kaido to be honest. Considering we got textual clarification surrounding the "powerful pirates leading the new generation" moment on the rooftop (which was Oden's prediction), it would be really weird if we didn't get textual clarification on Toki's prophecy...which is a million times harder to decipher than Oden's very straightforward statement.

If there's no prophecy in 1051, then...well you know the rest

Toki can’t tell the future. It’s not a prophecy. It’s just her promising Wano that the Scabbards would return in twenty years and Wano would be free.
