Even the likes of Katakuri never portrayed running a gauntlet like Vergo.

Vergo's portrayal is very close to Kaido's
Kaido fought scabbards, Rooftop 5, Luffy, Yamato and Nika just like Vergo fought G5 marines, Tashigi, Sanji, Law and Smoker.

Kaido was defeated by lava because he can't get KOed by normal way
Vergo was defeated by Law's hax because he can't get KOed by normal way

Both were a monster. Just one was well written and had lot of aura, and the other is Kaido.

The cope about Jack is funny, it's just a fact he failed to look good ever, only ever seeming badass in Zou, an arc where he jobbed twice, and needed to inherit Adolf Hitlers will to get a win against the minks. Once Wano hit, Jack did nothing but take L's, with his fellow all stars not seeing him as a peer, but more so as an insult. Once you put it together that King/Queen are counterparts to Marco/Jozu, you would realize Yamato was Ace's counterpart. Jack is the thatch of the crew and was even paired up with Pero, utterly irrelevant. Kaido was just being nice when he said he was strong, let's be honest, no one else believes it.

Vergo was an arc main villain that required a gigantic mountain slicer, respect him. We never saw Law try to put that much effort/power in an amputate ever again.
