Oda is treating Vergo the same way as he is treating WSC.
Vergo hit Tashigi once and then never saw her again.
He took only two meaningful hits from Sanji and then never saw him again.
Smoker was the only legitimate fight he had and even then that was a high diff.
Law he never fought fairly, he had to keep squeezing his heart to have a chance against him and the second Law got it back Vergo lost immediately.
That's not at all comparable to Kaido defeating all 9 Scabbards by himself, then nearly beating the rooftop 5 with the help of Big Mom, then beating Luffy, then beating Yamato, then beating Luffy again, and barely losing to G5 Luffy after Luffy used the strongest attack in the verse to KO him.
And keep in mind this all happened while he had to hold up an island, with Yamato saying he was weakening around chapter 1043.

The problem is fans want to act like Vergo was a pre timeskip character for some reason. There's really no issue with comparing him to the weaker commanders
Glazing Jack for defeating fodder minks and losing to the only prominent minks in the story, while looking down on Vergo humiliating PH Sanji for some reason

To this day he still doesn't have a single feat that proves he could beat a biscuit soldier so I don't know why people are trying to say he's YC3 level
