taking out pre TS Luffy once is light work, fighting him 100 times and a gauntlet of Alabastas strongest fighters(Imu's rivals, just one of whom tanked a nuke) is a different question.

I mean not really. It just sounds like people are picking and choosing when bounties matter for the convenience of their argument. Luffy had a higher bounty before King and Queen's were revealed, and it's super close to Hancock. Kidd and Law were given the same bounty as Luffy when the latter if much stronger than the duo.
We saw Oda's bounty wank in real time...he wanted the hell out of Jack's 1B bounty and even had it as a chapter title. Same thing happened to Katakuri. Does that mean Jack=Katakuri and Jack>Cracker and Smoothie? When the 1B man was beaten, Oda suddenly wanking guys over 1B, and we got over 10 new 1b+ bounties after they were beaten. BB's bounty randomly went from 2.2B to 3.9B, and now we got a fresh 2.6B bounty in our hands.

Feel like bounties are kinda pointless to infer power levels unless we take them as a broad indication of power level ballparks that are not very specific and so not very useful.

People keep "sent flying"-scaling. How many times have characters been send flying without doing shit? How many times did people draw blood from others which didn't amount to much? All that matters is, when Vergo took Sanji on, he beat him down via his own fighting style and while tuning down his Haki, with Sanji limping for the rest of the arc and having PTSD, saying it would've been bad, had the fight continued.
