Manga Discussion Edens Zero

#84
It’s maybe to early to say this but Edens Zero is one of my all time favourite mangas. It’s probably in my top 5 for now. I’m just afraid of Hiro Mashimas writing after seeing what he did to Fairy tail. I love everyone of the main cast and hope this story will be good until the end. 🙏🏼
Seems that mashima is taking this manga more seriously than ft when it comes to the writing

The writing overall is way better here than in ft

He’s pure trash that devil... I hope Kris kills him or I’m gonna jump into the manga and do it myself :beckmoji:
Yeah, please do it. :pepehands:

Wow...So many positive reviews :neesama:
Remembered trashing this series when it
released :milaugh:
What changed ?:choppawhat:
Well can't speak for others, but I never trashed it from the beginning lol

But what I like about the manga?
- good main characters
- it's an adventure manga like Rave or OP.
- This manga has Sylph, Homura and the four shining stars.
- It's dark.
- The villains so far are good and play a bigger role, like Ultear in the beginning of FT.
- It's a space manga and such are really rare.
- I like Hiro Mashima's art style.

What the hell, the Rutherford sibling backstory is dark
Yep, Müller must fucking die. :beckmoji:

Nice
And how do you like it?

Very enjoyable.

I'm whining a lot about the space/cosmic aspect of manga. I don't like the concept in general because it's always so generic and repetitive but Hiro really outdoes himself with this manga.

Characters I like the most: Ivry, Homura, Witch, Elsie, Justice, Weisz, and Hermit.

The thing I don't like the most is the "friends" aspect and you probably know why.

I like Shiki's fights and his power ( I'm a sucker for Gravity power users ).

But whenever he speaks I want to vomit. Shiki is good as long as he doesn't speak for too long.

I also don't like Rebecca's power. Plot armor over the hills in my opinion.

Valkyrie's last stand is probably my favorite moment in this manga followed by Elsie vs Justice and Xenolith's arrival.

The " friend " aspect will sadly never vanish, just try to ignore it. At least is Shiki a better MC than Natsu.

Yeah, he is really doing it well.

Only aspect about the space concept that bothers me is, that so far he hasn't shown moons and suns. That is really something that triggered me. lol

Nice list. They are really good characters. But you forgot one.

Yeah I know what you mean but I like the whole Shiki "friends" thing, because in this manga Hiro proved the difference, to FT. Either you have luck and the person is really your friend or not. Drakken is the best example. What he did was a nice twist.

But I never had a problem with "friendships" in mangas. So for me it's good/okay, it didn't really bother me so extremely.

But I can understand people who dislike it.

What I also like about him is that he maybe will turn evil?

Yeah it can be a plot armor power, but it has a risk too. And if she uses it, the other world is different, like the thing with Conor. Or that Ziggy turns evil, maybe it's a side effect of her power? Therefore it can be an intersting power, like in Re zero. But I hope she will not use it every time. So far she only used it against Drakken.

To the moments: Yep that was a really good moment.

What do you think will happen with him after this arc?

Oh, yeah that was kinda off this time. I didn't pay as much attention to this since we got all the planets and shit but if you really think about it then yes it is a bothering question. Although I think we might get an answer once we get the "Dark Times" flashback.

Shiki turning evil would be an amazing plot twist for me and now we know that there is a chance to it.

I'm referring to Xenolith's words about Ziggy. I think he indicates that he tapped into the wrong territory of using the Gravity powers which caused him to go evil. Although I have a different theory about what Xenolith meant.

What if Xenolith didn't tell Shiki everything to not bother him unnecessarily at least for now?

I think Ziggy being evil is because of 2 possible scenarios.

Scenario 1: As I mentioned above. Tapping into the Gravity powers too much leads to the wrong source of Gravity which causes a person to go evil.

Scenario 2: This is the one I would love the most. Gravity power was used by Xenolith when he was also a Human in the "Dark Times". What if he has unimaginably evil back then and the source of the Gravity power was born due to unimaginable amounts of evil energy/emotions or some sort of thing like this?

Once he turned into a droid he regained his consciousness as a good person and later taught Ziggy the arts of Gravity powers and all?

I don't like Rebecca's power because it's a massive plot armor as I mentioned before + you said that so far she only used it against Drakken and I gave it a pass but look just now what she does. Whenever something bad happens she is screaming for the cat leaper's power to awaken which I really don't like. I think she will stabilize this power so she doesn't need to turn back time for the entire world and she will spam this plot armor power only in fights. This is why I don't like it and I'm afraid of it in the future plots.

I think Xenolith will put his trust in Shiki and teach him everything he knows about the arts of the Gravity powers so he can have at least a small chance against Shiki.

I think Hiro did a good thing by saying that Ziggy was basically a genius who understood this in no time after Xeno just show it to him.

I think Ziggy will invade the place where Xenolith will train Shiki, whatever that place will be, and confront him for the final time.

Ziggy will kill Xeno so he could finally hail himself as the strongest living Gravity user in the entire cosmos. Shiki once again will witness that there is no hope in changing Ziggy's mind and he will swear to kill him next time they will meet.

Moscoy :steef:
I liked that scene where Hermit wanted to push it.

Yes, I hope we will learn more about that, and hopefully he will show us suns and moons. And what bothers me too, is that so far only 2-3 aliens were shown and those were only fodders. So I hope that we will see more in the Aoi Cosmos or in Neros empire. At least he should be one lol.

Nice theories. The second one sounds more exciting. Some people said that human Xeno looks like Drakken, so maybe he is Drakkens ancestor? Would fit your theory that he was evil too.
But another theory is, that Rebeccas cat leapers play a role too. Xeno, Noah and Drakken, all of them said things that Satan Gravity and Cat Leaper are connected. So maybe Rebeccas Time Leaps will cause Shiki turning evil? Wasn't he evil in one of her dreams or time leaps at the beginning of the Drakken arc? Another theory that I have read, was that Ziggy is an evil Shiki who jumped back to time somehow? Well tbh, I am not a really fan of that theory, if Shiki will become evil then I hope that it will be that Shiki who we knew.

But in her battle against Britney she at least jumped only few seconds back in time, so she has at least two "different" abilities, the one against Drakken was an immense time leap, and that against Britney or that against Nino was a mini time leap. I think she can use her power in different ways, she can enchant her physical abilities, like kicks, jumping etc. She can leap throught time, and she can use a laser/light beam what ever she can do with that. She used it the first time in the ship. What excatly was it? So in a way I am really interested in her power because it can be an awesome power. But yeah the risk that Hiro will use it as plot armor is there too

Yep I agreed. I think too that he will train Shiki everything he knows, maybe he can train the others too, at least in the basics of all ether gears and their overdrives. And I hope he tells them more about the dark ages and maybe about Neros empire too. The last part, that Ziggy will appear and kill Xeno sounds good too because it will trigger Shiki to beat Ziggy.

I hope that more of them are alive, maybe some of them are aliens and are now evil or anti heroes or so. Would be nice to see more aliens and more of the 12.

BTW: What do you guys think, how many crew members we will have at the end? And do you have theories who will join?
