Egghead arc did a lot to advance the plot.We are approaching end game.

Ofc it did alot to advance it, but nothing to truly "resolve" anything. It answered a near 150- 200 chapter mystery with the reverie for sure. It gave Blackbeard and Shanks RPs, and its laying the groundwork for Kuzan, Buggy, Mihawk, Kuma, Bonney and VP, etc.

But what Im trying to say is that regardless, Kizaru is still a threat for X amount of chapters before Elbaf. Then whatever is at Elbaf, if not Akainu, Imu, Shanks or Blackbeard. Even assuming what comes after is a massive ass war with everyone at X island or Lodestar or God Valley, it still is probably over 100 chapters away and will be long as shit itself lol.

And thats only "assuming" Oda resolves everything together and not separately.

there’s a lot to lose here for both sides and eggheads an important island to both parties so I can see a clash happening.

It would be an extreme diff fight.I'm not down playing Kizary,but Luffy is strong enough to tango with and beat top tiers depending on match up.Kizaru skillset is overrated imo.Luffy has dodged those lasers casually since the time skip started.

Nah Luffy needs a buffer before the try top tiers.

he still hasn’t won a fight after any powerup
G4 against Joker he needed the help of the country to protect him was able to escape and go for rnd2 would’ve lost a lot earlier in that fight.
G4 vs Cracker was useless and needed Nami and his appetite carried him 11hrs - had to create a new “full” version to just use Crackers ability against him.
G4 Boundman was utterly useless against Katakuri that he needed Snakeman and that was being outblitzed and outmaneuvered by DonutKata, at best that fight ended in a draw but Katakuri didn’t care to continue the fight. Both winners.
Luffy demolished how many times by Kaido - unlocked Ryou and AdvCoA/CoC was still not enough to really compete with Kaido - needed the help of 4 SN plus Yamato. Lost
Awakening G5 was still not enough for a fresh Kaido who isn’t using part of his energy on moving an entire island while fighting the scabbards, then SN then mink dukes then Liffy then Yamato then Liffy again.

luffy has the plot armor no mi - until he can actually t least beat a YC1 mid/high diffs then he is unable to actually solo a true Top Tier he can compete for a while but he loses high diffs rn

We dont know if Gear4 still has a time limit after he unlocked awakening.I assume it does not.Also,his base gears got buffed by a lot with advanced haki.Luffy doesnt even need his devil fruit to give a decent fight to them.Luffy wont unlock any new powers,he will just hone his current skillset.From now on its like Luffy was before gears were a thing:he found new ways around his opponents abilities and came up with some new moves,got better base stats and so on.Luffy is a legit top tier.He just need to be honed into Pirate King tier.

Are you joking right now?Did you see what base Luffy did to Kaido?Luffy jumped multiple tiers in Wano.His move that finished Kaido is the strongest we have seen so far.Luffy doesnt need to prove shit anymore.WG recognizes him as emperor too.

Base Luffy lacks DC/AP and speed hence why he created gears - G2 created to compete with Soru and Geppo / G3 was to overpower Tekkai. Haki was gained to be able to compete in the New World while G4 was created to further that and combine the speed and strength together. Boundman is well rounded but still lacks speed while Snakeman lacks power.

these gears have been created by Luffy for specific reasons G2 base abilities are still weak even with Haki he still needs names attacks like redhawk/whatever the other one is called, this is his best base move with advhako atm - G4 is still on time limit we saw it firsthand against Kaido - Zoro and Law had to save him and Kidd clearly outlined that for tremendous strength there is consequences. G5 sucks the life out of luffy literally.

You do also realize Kaido was content with losing to Luffy, he wanted Oden to be the one to finally defeat him and since that didn't go as expected he has been waiting for the one he wanted Wano to welcome, JoyBoy (Luffy).

Kaido had already seen Luffy's protentional it's why he had so countlessly continued pointing out his fire and will and even when he killed him he had regrets that the fight ended as it did and when G5 was active he then proceeded to ask Luffy of what kind of king and world he wanted to be.

Kaido actually got his dream made during this fight. Kaido won overall.

Base Luffy was fighting Hybrid Kaido evenly until he went drunk mode.No YC1 is doing that(aside from maybe Beckman and Prime Ray).

Yeah it wasn't enough to win the fight and drunk mode proved too much for G4 and AdvHaki Luffy.

Died by a cheap shot.Luffy wasnt fresh either.

Luffy would've still died there regardless. & it wasn't a cheap shot it was a head on collision that was intercepted. Luffy was at his end with that attack.

& Bajrang Gun is from G5 awakening it's not a base attack..
