Chapter Discussion Elbaf pacing is horrible

#23
The pacing is totally fine at the moment. Oda usually gets caught up introducing characters and wasting times in areas which don't end up getting their due pay-off. I like to look at it through the lens of a well-paced anime where an episode adapts roughly two chapters. So far, Elbaph would amount to just about eight episodes, which is nothing in the grand scheme of things. I expect this arc to be about the same length as Egghead.

Arcs are Organized in Parts (Volumes), not Chapters,
Part 1 is almost always "Arc Introduction" & We are already Done with that the moment Holy Knights Teleported to the Castle,

After that, usually Part 2 is about dealing Cards & putting everyone in Position to establish what is this Arc's Main Plot,
Elbaph Arc also already Finished this, as Part 2 focused on Loki Situation, it was Over with Last Chapter,

Now, We should have Part 3 focusing on Elbaph Flashback obviously,
Explaining why We are seeing these Characters Arc & why They are gathered together,

After that, We should have Part 4 focusing on Stopping that Threat that was established in Part 2 (Holy Knights, Kids, Monsters, Fire ... etc),
At the End of Part 4, We should have some sort of Conclusion to the Struggle or Introduction of an Element that takes Arc in a New Direction,
Meaning either Holy Knights succeed in Taking Kids or Capturing Loki, or We have Luffy/Shamrock Meeting or Someone arrives such as Man With Burn Scar ... etc

Depending on that Outcome, this Elbaph Plot takes about 4 Volumes (2 Already Done).
If any Part is Finished in like 5-6 Chapters, then the Pacing will look too Fast, while if it takes almost Two Volumes then it's too slow.
So far, the Pacing doesn't look like either, it's Fine.

The pacing has been good by one piss standards
We got some backstory, introductions, a mystery and dome plot development with the HK arriving so it's been alright so far but i'm waiting for everything to go to shit as always.

I see lot of complaint but Elbaph is fast paced .
Loki and Gaban were introduced pretty fast and Harley text was explained in details .

I feel Oda is going all out assault in thus arc considering Elvaph will be final arcs .

I like the lore so far I know Zoro and Yonko fandom who always want fights will finds this boring .

We will see more of Brook, Ussop , Nami , Chopper in this arc considering they hardly got fights .

I keep seeing a lot of people saying how Elbaf got off to a better start than many arcs, when in reality this arc has gotten off to the slowest start.

We're almost 20 chapters in, and neither Luffy nor the others have had a serious confrontation with anyone.
For Egghead, by this point, the SH had already faced CP0, the Seraphim, Law vs. BB, we knew Kizaru and Saturn were coming, Shanks vs. Kid, and in subsequent chapters, we had external events with Garp/Kuzan/Imu, etc.

By this point (18 chapters in), Luffy and Kaido had their clash in Wano, Luffy had already faced Cracker in WCI, and Luffy was already in the coliseum fighting while Law vs. Doflamingo vs. Fujitora was going on in Dressrosa.

Sabaody only lasted 20 chapters, and we know everything that happened.

It's been almost 20 chapters and Luffy hasn't faced anyone, and everything indicates we'll enter a kind of FB in the following chapters. And what's worse, I don't find the villains the most interesting. It's cp0 again, only that time we tolerated it because we knew a gorosei and an admiral were on their way. Loki was the last hope and look how he ended up, chained again like 15 chapters ago.
One piece isn't all about fighting you tool!

Here we go again. The bozos that appear every arc and complain about the pacing.

Yeah I have exactly waited for another wannabe hotshot to appear and gather a few likes from the other bozos. Circlecrying about One Piece arc pacings.

God jesus. The literally SAME discussion we had in prior arcs.

Lame ones gonna stay lame ones.

I have no complaints of the pacing for now, seems more fast paced than other post-ts arcs. By biggest gripe with long One Piss Arcs is the introduction of an excessive amount of characters. This arc is not bad at all in that regard. I think this arc will be fine as long as it does not contain any bullshit flashback chapters.
In general I agree with you though, the pre-ts arcs such as Sabaody were much more succinct, and while Egghead started off promising it was held back by a Kuma Flashback that was at least 5 chapters too long and a weird "who done it" series of chapters regarding the assassinations of the satellites which was proceeded by a flash forward starting with Luffy's conversation with the Elders.

By One Piece standards I would say it is pretty good, I would much rather slowly introduce actual good characters like Loki/god knights/Shanks clone, than waste time with dumbass characters like hold em/batman/page 1 etc. There have been some solid reunions too with Robin and Usopp.

It’s just One Piece’s pacing post-time skip that’s been poor in general. “Pretty good” for One Piece’s standard is actually kinda slow, and apparently the length of chapters in general has decreased. That with the constant breaks can make it feel worse.

This one is just a personal issue, but it’s the content itself that’s kinda boring for me. The Holy Knights just do nothing for me as antagonists….especially this far into the story.

Pacing is fine, in summary you don't care about the pre existing narratives such as the Elbaf's history, and Loki's backtory which is one of it not the main reason you're bitching.

If this was Dressrosa, we would still be waiting for the Loki to be freed and for the Holy Knights to take action.
