Everything is already setup to be moving fast, with all factions making their moves. There simply is not time to spend in a timeskip, even if Strawhats were too weak (not the case).
And SHs are now a yonko crew, with Luffy being a solid top tier, Zoro being borderline top tier, and Sanji comparable to the strongest commanders.
But still, the world govt is too stacked though. With Imu, gorosei, Kong, admirals, god's knights and seraphim. Even if the admirals abandon them, they're still way too stacked for even an alliance of pirates and revolutionaries taking them on.
Though, I doubt a timeskip is changing anything when it comes to this aspect.
