Kaido has neither the hype nor feats to push Primebeard/Roger past high-diff. I think Kaido never surpassed Oden, he views him as an equal even today. Kaido had Oden dancing for 5 years because he knew he couldn't beat him fairly. In those 5 years, he didn't hit the gym or train, he amassed military might. Kaido didn't get stronger in those 5 years so why would he get stronger after that?
Dragon Kaido is legitimately one-shot material for WB/Roger or anyone that has good AP and Ryou.
It's funny that Yonko wankers find all sorts of justifications and spins for Mihawk's title but when it comes to Kaido, his title is legitimate without question. Even though his own intro box didn't justify getting a title:
