No one should believe that a ruthless man like Kaido would truly ditch his own honor and sit down just because Shanks was interrupting him, so I bet there was a small clash between the two and only then he refused to fullfil his plan of taking on Whitebeard.
He is too proud to adventure himself into the meanders of diplomacy either.

Zoro's goal is to be the best swordsman in the world, which makes him automatically defeat or overcome Mihawk to achieve his goal.
In the conversation between Mihawk and Luffy, mihawk said that Becoming King of the pirates is much more difficult than being the best swordsman, and that Luffy needs to become stronger than him.
If the sentence were: "If the pirate king were the strongest pirate, he would be KAIDO".
Zoro had to lower himself to the point of begging for his dream to help him get stronger.
What makes EOS zoro inferior to the old WB who was the strongest man in the world, mihawk wasn't even measuring prime WB lol.
With that we have 3 people above the dream (mihawk) of zoro, Kaido = Big Mom and WB. (I could put SHANKS here ... Shanks via WB as an equal or superior, he was not measuring any difference when he faced him.) Zoro EOS beating admirals after Luffy became PK does not mean that admirals> Yonkous. HAHA. When zoro will be <Yonkous.
Now, why does EOS make sense? Kaido will fall before the Mihawk, Mihawk is weaker than Kaido, who Zoro will face to become the BEST.

Set sail during the great age of Piracy after witnessing Roger's Execution, got a bounty on his head while adventuring through the Grand Line, and was one of the Pirates invited by the WG to join the Shichibukai 
So must have already have sailed.
Bounty doesnt mean pirate or higuma and dragon are pirates now too ?
