Controversial Explain how Saturn can still get defeated/killed

Unless Oda pulls some BS, I always maintained that it made no sense for Saturn to be killed on Egghead.
It would make the regeneration gimmick lose any threat if it was overcome the very first time we see it. It would make the rest of the Gorosei lose all menace.

As far as the Elders are aware, all of the Vegapunks are dead, except York, they got the Mother Flame stuff, they got the Seraphims back, they stopped the transmission, and the Yonko is leaving.
