Character Discussion Explain Luffy to me

But seriously explain Luffy to me
I never liked Sanji, He has a good character but has too many negative points.
I find Zoro boring and only good thing about him is his fans

In M3, Luffy is the only character I care about but since wano my likeness towards Luffy has been decreasing,
And since the end of Wano, Oda has been mistreating Luffy. Many wouldn't agree with this statement but after chapter 1143 Luffy seems less complex character than Sanji and has less cool moments than Zoro.
How is this possible that Luffy is unable to compete with two sidekicks in two important traits of main character.
Of course some people will deny it but look at fanbase and not just worstgen but every other social media.
Despite one piece being about Luffy, fanbase is more obsessed with Zoro and Sanji. Every discussion always involves Zoro ans Sanji.

Luffy is Main character but what else,
Why Luffy seems so empty as a character?
Luffy has secret dream but Oda ruined it by giving same dream to Roger so it is not unique
Concept of Nika is good but Nika is from past and has some purpose but thats not about Luffy.
Also making Bonney Nika means it is not unique to Luffy.
I want Oda to explain Luffy to me. Not Nika, Joyboy 2.0 or Roger 2.0.
Why does Luffy wants to become pirate king?
Why secret dream is important to him?
His family his Motive his past and his character.
If Oda wants One Piece to become more than just a battle and fight story, he needs to give him more character.
Story of One piece will always seem empty if main character is empty.

And FUCK NIKA for ruining Luffy

Sanji was always more complex than Luffy and Zoro was always "Cooler" than Luffy imo, Luffy's charm was in being Luffy
How he could be dumb and strong and cool like Zoro and next panel he is emotionally serious and smart like sanji or anyone else, how he could help and undrestand people
He could walk in anyones shoes not just these two
But nika is now taking away everything from him. Its nikas show not luffy

Luffy is Luffy nothing more nothing less

Nika didn't change Luffy in anyway and I dont know where people got the idea it did

Luffy was always the sign of freedom, he's always been happy go lucky Nika just takes those emotions and personality traits and increases them 10 fold

And people who say Luffy no longer gets serious in g5 is mistaken

Just cause he's smiling doesn't mean he's not serious

I think luffy's charm lied in his impulsivity and silliness (the 'idiot song' from skypiea, the sandal gag) - and that he never tried to be 'less silly' and was never written to be 'respected' or 'taken seriously'. very light-hearted.

and the gomu gomu was a perfect vehicle for that characterization.

sadly, gomu gomu is no more. there's a god fruit, reincarnation, loger's dream, destiny. no more friendship with other characters - only worship. because luffy is not a funny sandal guy anymore, he's a god. that changes his interaction with other characters

Luffy is fine yeah
But still, stuff like him laughing while Vegapunk is dead is ridiculous

Nika just takes those emotions and personality traits and increases them 10 fold
So you are saying one aspect of his character is now 10 times more important
So you agree with my post

That was good scene. Luffy crying about Vegapunk was cringe.
We need scene of Nika killing people and laughing like maniac.
Nika should be alter personality that Luffy needs to fight.
Nika trying to take over Luffy and Luffy fighting against it is much better,

This would be cringe and very much copy paste of Sanji vs his germa stuff tbh lol
Doesnt fit Luffy imo

Sanji has no second personality
Whole thing about Sanji is headcanon.
Main Character having alter ego is common trope
Sanji "might" have to go through that phase, i dont like it but its possible and it fits him since its been build up, but it doesnt fit him anymore imo after wano, since his identity crisis are now over
It doesn't fit Luffy cause never had these issues nor the build up
Thats why it would feel forced and cringe

Oda changed Luffy into retard after the timeskip. The previous chapter confirmed it when Luffy showed that he didn't care if Zoro knew how to use COC Haki. Luffy is an awful leader and captain. Even characters like Naruto and Goku show themselves to be much better leaders than Luffy. Goku was able to teach his son, and Mijin Boo, while Naruto teached Konohamaru his technique. There's no reason for Luffy to be the captain. He is not qualified to be the leader. Before the timeskip, he was, but right now, he has become the dumb clown.
There was one moment when Luffy acted in the right way, like with Alliance with Law.], but that's it.

Honestly, the idea that Luffy is a complex character is kind of funny. He’s just a typical shonen hero a goofy guy with a big dream, who somehow understands others, and always wins because of “the power of friendship.” This kind of character is everywhere in shonen, so I don’t get why Luffy is seen as something special or unique. He’s just not that deep. Sure, Luffy has his moments, but he doesn’t really change much as a character Or he isnt designed to be complex character.

In a way, Luffy is just a watered-down version of Goku from Dragon Ball. Goku’s is not the best character either, but we see him grow a lot throughout the series. He starts off as a naive kid, becomes a strong fighter, and even learns to become a better person as he grows older. By the end of Dragon Ball Z, we see Goku as a dad, and his character has actually changed. Luffy, on the other hand, has stayed pretty much the same since the beginning. He’s still that goofy guy who says, “I’m going to be the Pirate King!” over and over again, with little growth. Goku makes mistakes and learns from them, but Luffy keeps making the same mistakes and doesn’t seem to learn much. Before the timeskip, Luffy was okay, but after the timeskip? That’s when things started to go downhill. It’s like the story became a cycle where Luffy does the same thing in every arc. He shouts his goal to become Pirate King, gets into a big fight, gets knocked down, needs someone to help him, and then he gets back up. It’s all so repetitive. The only thing that seems to matter is who Luffy is fighting next. Villains like Doflamingo, Kaido, and others are often way more interesting than Luffy himself. It’s a problem when the hero of the story is less exciting than the bad guys. Also, Luffy’s true dream still hasn’t been fully explained after over 1,150 chapters. Why is Oda keeping it secret? At this point, it’s more annoying than intriguing. We know Luffy wants to be Pirate King, but that’s about it. Now, we got roger joyboy and nika all having the same secret dream ?

As for the Straw Hat crew, they’re mostly just there to fill space. The only characters I really care about are Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji when it comes to the fights. The rest of the crew doesn’t really do much anymore. They’re just side characters who show up when needed. It’s a shame, because back in pretimeskip, we actually got to see more of the crew’s individual stories and growth. Now, it feels like they’re just there to support Luffy, and that’s it. Honestly, all of them except monster trio could be written out of the story, and I wouldn’t miss them much. When you look at the best parts of the Egghead Arc, the most exciting stuff happens outside of Egghead itself. Thank god this arc has characters like Shanks and Imu, and all the mystery Loki, is way more interesting than anything happening with Luffy and the crew. It’s disappointing that the side stories and villains are what’s keeping things interesting, while the main crew feels stuck in the same loop. If Oda really wants to make the story better, he needs to focus less on the Straw Hat crew and give more attention to the world-building, the villains, and the mysteries that are actually intriguing. There’s a lot of potential here, but it feels like Oda is wasting it by repeating the same formula over and over.

It questions me does the strawhat crew even talk to each other ? Zoro to this day hasn't said a word about gear 5
