Law’s trained both mentally and physically, which is something both Kid and Luffy haven’t fully done.
He doesn’t need to be pummeled and have his ship destroyed to come to that conclusion either. I’d say he suffered enough when his family and friends got wiped out by a virus and were left for dead by the people who were supposed to help them, along with Rosinante/Corazon who meant so much to him being killed by Doflamingo.
So, no thanks. I’ll gladly wish for a better outcome though, no matter how slight.

No. He's already done a lot better than Kid, and he's still important to the story because of his clan of D and his Devil Fruit.
The fact that we still don't have the result after the fight has been going on for a while gives some confidence that he won't get such bad treatment from this fight against Blackbeard.

Does anyone think Oda finishing ominously with Blackbeard grinning and about to use his DF nullification attack is a good thing for Law? Especially when we haven’t went back to the fight in ~15 chapters?
Oda’s already moving on to setting up Blackbeard getting involved in Egghead, with Garp and with Shanks. There’s not much set up for Law doing anything.
The only thing saving Law’s blushes is the opponent he matched up against. Shanks would one-shot Law as well. And Kid could land Damned Punk on Blackbeard if he’d been in Law’s place.
Both are nowhere near ready to genuinely fight a top tier solo. That’s why the Big Mom fight played out the way it did while Luffy was actually going toe to toe with Kaido by himself.
I mean I can see Kidd and Law coming back but only to assist the strawhats in some major war. I think Kidd shitted on Luffy for doing nothing for 2 years while he was busy training his haki, perhaps Kidd and Law might take the hint but it will be too late so best case scenarios for them is assisting the strawhats. I only give Law more credit for having a slightly stronger crew than Kidd.
law is more popular than shanks. the fanbase is huge in japan. everyone loves him. he at dressrosa even able to be top 2 most popular after luffy. even arc that don't involve him like wci. he still able be top 5. oda wont do dirt to him. oda care about his fandom. nobody care about kidd. he don't have much fans and everybody hate him

Look how he negged Hancock by using it immediately. If he used it immediately against Law, he would have gotten the Kid treatment.
