Someone was discussing blood types with me and suddenly I had an epiphany.
Sanji is S RH- (O RH-)
Luffy is F (B).
The RH factor is not given by Oda for the rest of the Strawhats.
However, Usopp and Robin are both S(O) and were not able to donate to Sanji.
Which means they have to be S+.
HOWEVER, Usopp and Robin could not donate to Luffy either despite S(O) being universal donator.
Which means by process of elimination, Luffy and Jinbe are both F(B) RH-.
Meaning, Sanji being universal RH- donator could donate to Luffy.
Therefore, Oda had to come up witha reason for Sanji to be unable to donate to Luffy so it would fall to Jinbe. He had to have him out of commission. Thus he had him almost die of blood loss so he'd recently have had a transfusion and could not donate.
