Questions & Mysteries For how long have you been following OP?

#22
I've known about One Piece anime since I was a kid, over 20 years ago. But only caught bits and pieces of it. I'd watch Dragon Ball and then if I felt like it I'd catch an OP episode here and there.

Didn't really get into it until 6-7 years ago, when I picked up the manga. It's the only manga I've read through and through.

Why did you decide to watch/read it?
It is aired at one of the channel in my country.
Start to read it regularly just to fill leisure time.

Why is it still among your favourite mangas?

1. Since 2003/04
2.I loved Animes and watched it on TV. I don't remember the specific reason
3. 6-7 years ago OP was my undisputed number 1 but now it’s just one of my favourites. It’s in my top 10. Nostalgia plays also a role. OP went downhill for me but I have still hope for the future arcs.
4. Revolutionary Army or the Marines.

I was complaing to the guy in the video store that he doesn't have any new movies but then he said i just watch too much and they don't make enough for me
Maybe i should give this thing called One piece a shot since it's like 700 episodes and can fill my time

2007 but I only catched up in 2013.
I Used to watch a lot of Naruto and Bleach and was actually way more invested in their stories tbh but my interest for them happened to almost disappear years later as well. For me the Pain Arc saga is probably the best experience I have ever had on a manga/anime but Kishimoto couldn't help but always redeem his villains by the time they got defeated. The ending of the pain Arc made me drop Naruto for a while and on that time I got really invested in One Piece, by that time I was reaching Water 7 so since them I have been a guy that just can't not read One Piece.

Roughly 04-05.

I remember being younger than Luffy when I was watching One Piece one of the things I’d enjoy doing is comparing my age to other characters.

Also finding Jump in the high school library and skipping classes to read One Piece outside by the track fields … such a simple time miss those days Adult Life is lame AF.

For me Luffy's goofiness was one of the reasons I couldn't really get into One Piece as a kid. I liked super serious characters like

When I finally became older than Luffy, I started to appreciate his character and One Piece.

2009 i started the manga.

Naruto, OP, Pokemon, DBZ, Saint Seiya and other animes were very popular in the kids tv morning shows and i watched the East blue saga a bunch of times before discovering that there was more than that.

Discovered Naruto manga and in the scan site i read it, they also posted One Piece, so i started.

Dont think its the best manga anymore now in Wano, but its still my favorite, and after Naruto and Bleach ended and HxH enter hiatus, OP is the only manga i still enjoy to discuss every week.

Would like to be a standart W7 citzen ahhaha

Kenshiro was one of the dopest back in the day, one thing that sticks out was way back when I saw Ninja Scroll as a kid and seen BOOBIES !

I was like WHOA !

Since when did you start OP?
Christ, 2003…caught up around 2008 and have been weekly ever since.
Why did you decide to watch/read it?
Caught the first chapter in the American version of WSJ and found it fascinating, why else did any of us get started?
Why is it still among your favourite mangas?
I won’t act like I’ve read a ton of them past the common classics, but for as bloated as it’s gotten since the timeskip, I can still see just enough of the old magic to keep me hooked to the end (and I’m a completist in general).
Which faction (Revo/Navy/CP/Supernovas/Yonko/Warlords..) do you think suits you the most if you were in One Piece world ?
Revolutionaries, hands down

Idk I never in my life watched anime or sum but one of my friend recommended me to watch it so
Why is it still among your favourite mangas?
Yes it is. early ONE PIECE was best so is now. Even though Wano kinda seems boring but one arc cant change my whole opinion of series

I started OP in 2012.

I decided to watch it because I saw a couple of episodes with my older brother. It was Jaya, episode 151 that really drew me in because it was Luffy punching Bellamy then the meeting at Mariejois and Whitebeard & Blackbeard intros. It just indicated some awesome worldbuilding.

That worldbuilding is one of the reasons why it's my favourite manga. The characters are also awesome, there's no protagonist group I love more than the Strawhats. Most of all, the variety of emotions it invokes is just spectacular!

The Revolutionaries are the faction I connect to most. I just love anyone or group who sets out to change their world for the better, especially against those as nasty as the Celestial Dragons.

2015.

After finishing Naruto I was looking for a similar manga, and One Piece kept popping up as a must. The premise was interesting and I was excited to start it.

It's not.
Bolded part
Not surprised
