Chapter Discussion Fucking first mate Zoro great advice bro

That was a really shitty example by Zoro because Ace ended up dead exactly because of this mindset lol. Couldn't have picked a worse example.

Well that is just 1 example he used, but he said some facts. Vivi's location is uncertain, going to Marijoas is fighting all the marines, going to Alabasta is useless. He said that if they have some good Intel, they can go to help, but right now doing so is useless. So then his example of Ace holds more power(a bit), she seems to have escaped, so let's just trust her and her power.

That's the point. It sounds dumb irl. Oda bending over backwards to make it sound cool.
But why tf would you apply real life logic? Would you say something like this irl? =>

These characters are built differently. You think Ace is dumb because he died so young. Luffy thinks Ace followed his own path, had a blast while he lived and died without any regrets. At least thats the message Oda is trying to get accross.

Those are just some edgy words being said. The dialogue we're discussing is crap because it shouldn't actually serve the purpose it's supposed to serve. But Oda is making it look like it should.

Chapter 1060:

• Luffy listens to news about Sabo & Vivi
• Denies that Sabo would kill King Cobra (which happens to be the truth).
• There's a suggestion Vivi might be in trouble
• Luffy suggests the stupid idea of going all the way back to Albasta or invading Mariejois (like that went well the last time).
• Zoro calls him out on said idiotic thoughts and brings up Ace & how Luffy said "he has his own adventures"

Chapter *Some number*:

• Luffy sees Ace's vivre card slowly burning
• Doesn't intent to go to Ace with his crew
• Nami double checks if he's sure
• crew don't mind taking a detour

Zoro was literally telling not to be a hypocrite. Don't know why you guys are bringing up his death or whatever :seriously:
Difference is that Ace can take care of himself because he is a natural fighter. Vivi doesn't have that. Which is why Luffy is worried about her. Zoro does have a point though about not rushing into Marijoa when they have no idea if she's even there. Luffy's the type who doesn't care about that stuff. When a friend is in need of help, he will go after them regardless of their chances.

They will end up doing just that very soon anyways. So it doesn't really matter if it's now or later.

Imagine "Zoro acting as vice captain" before going to Enies Lobby :gokulaugh: we would have never had that arc!
"No! Luffy! Those people of the WG are powerful! They just beat us,nobody ever came back alive from there! I am scared!" Luckily,Sanji didnt "think" and immediately took the Sea Train to save his crewmate :goyea:

You don't need to be a fighter to take care of yourself, vivi was doing just that (albeit poorly) before the Strawhats got involved in Alabasta.
I mean that's what Zoro said no? When we know what happened, where she is and if she's in imminent danger, we will go to help her.

Yeah true them finding Bonney was awfully convenient. Someone that can explain everything to them suddenly lands on their lap

Zoro had a point but gave a bad example to back it up. Ace ended up dead even with all the trust (and eventual effort) Luffy gave him. It’s not like Luffy never trusted Ace, he only went to war precisely because Ace was due for execution (the most dire situation). So bringing up Ace in that moment just doesn’t make sense, I’d be panicking over Vivi if I was in his shoes. Bringing up your powerful brother (whom you trusted 100% all your life that he can take care of himself) still ending up dead? - Great reassurance for Vivi’s safety lol.

No example was needed, Zoro’s logic was already sound until he linked it to a traumatic memory.

I was just joking about Zoro being firstmate Oda is just trying to mirror Zoro's indifference from alabasta where Zoro said if the crew wanted vivi they should have took her. it's literally just a bad joke from Oda and what Zoro said made no sense.
