It did no damage.

I mean, it depends on what you qualify damage. Their intention was to cut him/cleave off his head, and they caused some pain.

The point of the whole chapter is that only Luffy could reall hurt him initially and draw blood. Not the others.

If you take a step back and think about it, you will come to the conclusion that Zoro achieving the same would have been a significant focus. We would see the wound clearly and have our attention drawn to it through the framing of the whole scene, with Kaido making specific comments on that.

Deep down most logical Zoro fans must know that this was not it.

Yeah I saw it but Zoro needs more training and it seems like they did better than Kid and Law lol at least they did "something" but I am surprised that Killer got a strong haki unlike his captain but if you think of it he is called the massacre soldier and his weapon is unique

They did not achieve their goal with this attack, I don't claim otherwise. There was a protracted debate on whether they did damage at all. It seems that has been settled.

If Zoro's attack did draw some blood, then it would have had to break skin to do so.

There was a lot of debate over the topic and the official translation seems to have settled it. It was a major update.

And it did not draw blood, that's what i am saying.

It caused pain, and if you want to qualify that as damage you can.

Their intention was to cut his skin, and they could not with this attack.

If Zoro would have been able to draw blood while no one else could this chapter, he would have recieved comparable focus to what Luffy got with the Red Roc attack. It would not be up for debate, we'd see it clear as day and comments would be made on how he could achieve what the others did not.

The fact that you see that shot from behind, and have to make the assumption that the debris like specs are only meant to be blood in this panel, while they also appear in all the other panels and it's never blood in those cases, proves that it's 100% not blood here either.

Both of them aimed at the neck, you can see that the only cutting effect is around the neck of Kaido, there is no collision effect on the trunk

It's crystal clear he felt pain, It was just the intro, they all have a lot to show..Their attacks will gradually hurt him as the fight going on.. Their competitions will allow them to hurt him in the long run with their respectives means.

Nah, that's not the kind of attack (Rengoku) Oni Giri is. Here are other examples.

Vs Killer:


Vs Hyouzou:


Vs Mr. 5:


Vs Cabaji:



Onigiri has always produced multiple slashes and on the torso. It doesn't produce a single horizontal slash. There's no reason it would suddenly start operating completely differently vs Kaido.
