According to Shinji Shimizu, Wano's ending will be surprising:

According to Oda himself, Wano is heading towards something he didn't initially imagine:

Many people also don't know that the story for the Wano arc in its entirety was properly laid out during Zou (you can see that for instance in the name change Kogetsu -> Kozuki).

I think that Oda did not plan the Yonkou alliance at all at the beginning, defeating 2 emperors at once makes the most sense in terms of an unexpected outcome. I also think that a generic final blow etc. is not that you'd call a surprising ending.

It's also funny that Oda mentions Ennies Lobby being difficult to surpass in regards to emotions, yet this is one of the missing factors of Wano (besides lacking seriousness of the SH's) that prevent me of put this arc over MF and the former.

Kaido's Dream is not "Dying", it's Conquering the World & acquiring One Piece & Ancient Weapons & Greatest Military Power & making Wano his Stronghold & that is what SHs will "Stop"

However, it's part of his Personality that he wants to have an Epic Fight & Die with Honor against someone Worthy.
Also Luffy Crushes the Dreams that get in his Way, not their Personal Dreams

For example, Luffy stopped Enel from Destroying Skypiea but he still fulfilled his Dream of reaching The Moon & Ruling there.
BM also must be Stopped from Conquering the World ... etc (Same as Kaido) but her Dream of creating an Utopia for all Races is a Dream that can still be Fulfilled

Also Luffy already tasted Defeat & Villains got what they wanted during MF War where both Marines & Blackbeard Finished what they aimed to do & Luffy was unable to stop them

Don't confuse Dreams where Villain endanger Lives of Others with Dreams where it only effects them Personally or bring no Harm to others.

Also to piggy back off you’re point kaido‘s death wouldn’t even be glorious in-story wise only the people of wano will see him die, and to add insult to injury he’s losing to a force no one in the world would expect him to lose to “a couple of new world rookies” and he lost to them with another emperor at his side mind you. Compare that to wb who went against the marines and warlords plus had a badass line that started another era. Kaido will have none of this, his absence will cause a power vacuum yes but no one will talk about how epic his death was. Zkk baby

Yes, just like only handful few saw Roger Die and just like only Wano & Kaido saw Oden Die
And it's not only Wano who will witness Kaido's Death

Most Worst Generation are there, another Yonko is there, Kaido's Entire Army is there, Drake who is a Marine is there, CP-0 is there & who knows what Surprise Appearances we might have next

Not to mention that Oda said once Wano is Done, the End is basically in Sight
You think we are still in "Villain gets White Eyes & gets captured?"
We are in the Endgame, the Stakes are High

The Newspapers will say Worst Generation & Wano Alliance managed to Slay the Fearsome Kaido, it's not different than WB being killed by One of Shichibukai

Why do you think One of Marys is there with CP-0? Obviously the Conclusion of Wano Arc will be shown to the World, there will be a Live Broadcast, maybe that's the whole reason Kaido invited CP-0 in first place

He wanted them to be witnesses of his Alliance & Take Over of Wano & start of his Plan to Conquer the World.
This is the Conclusion of a Story that started in Punk Hazard where we had Caesar make a Live Broadcast showing Luffy + Law Alliance & among Spectators there were Kid & Killer, Tamago & Pekoms (Basically BM Pirates), Jack (Beasts Pirates), Lucci (CP-0) & others

And now we are watching Kid & BM Pirates & Beasts Pirates & CP-0 being present in Wano, so all that's left is showing Reaction of those other Shadowed Spectators

Also Oda said Shanks will make a Move in 2021 & we know that Shanks went to Stop MF War, so imagine a War where Kaido, BM & WG are involved? Obviously Shanks might appear in Wano, who is another Major Spectator for Kaido's Death

I’m not disagreeing with the logistics of what you’re saying lol I’m saying kaido’s death won’t be as grand as he wants it to be
