Bougya Gaban is hailed as "Invincible"!!!

What did Oda means by this?

I’d say when Ray showed up stakes were highest they’ve ever been. Luffy just punched a CD, the Pacifista armada was deployed, an admiral on his way, and Ray just kinda went home and told the SHs to meet him at shakkys

I doubt that. Colon will be used as a tool to show for oda to greater explore what the Power of Love is and Sommers and gillingham will be used as the hype tools of it like how CDs were used as the hype tools of CoC when it was introduced.
I meant the stakes for the person themselves

Rayleigh had no skin in the game during Sabaody. The survival of Luffy and his crew had very little to do with his personal life

You can't really compare Rayleigh to Gaban. The wife of his child as well as his son were born here, not to mention the residents of Elbaf know him and look up to him as an influential figure

He has an obligation to help and protect Elbaf and it's citizens in their time of need. It's similar to Rayleigh going far out of his way to save Amazon Lily

Boa's basically his adopted daughter and his wife is from there. It's obvious that he would come to their aid

Ray was good friends with hachi remember and his wife/girlfriend lived on Sabaody so he absolutely had skin in the game.

Gaban could just take his family to his ship and let the straw hats handle the rest, dipping from the arc. Honestly looking at this chapter… does Gaban look like someone worried about his home?

He had already saved Hachi

Marines showing up also had 0 effect on Shakky

It's not like Kizaru showing up was a threat to the island of Sabaody itself. He came because a CD was attacked and the Strawhats were his main targets

You can't compare that to the HK's infiltrating his home with the intent of wreaking havoc/causing destruction as well as potentially killing innocent people he cares about

I think y'all drag the reaction scaling thing tbh

Dorry and Brogy are smiling lookin relaxed too

Do you think they aren't worried about the fate of Elbaf?

I mean, not really. Dorry and Broggy left Elbaf like a century ago,(on paper they're not planning to end the duel either) it's not really their kids.

Dory and Brogy actively expelled all the alcohol in their system so they could fight better. Gaban is still drinking and joking to them about it all.

We’ll have to wait and see, but I don’t think Gaban sees any stakes here. Hell, he knew what was going to happen if Loki was released and he still wanted Luffy to do it.

Legends say he clapped Ripley for that long to conceive Colon too. Colon is such a cursed name but he's an adorably brave, good kid too. So happy at least one Roger Pirate has living child but I really want Mihawk to be Shakky and Rayleighs son too.
Hell in the game the warlords are HEAVILY inspired by, Romancing Saga 2 which got remastered on Steam lately too, Mihawk's and Boa's characters are siblings and the way Shakky comforted Boa and Rayleighs protectiveness of her are very parent-like regardless.

Escanor is fucking godly too. I need to watch the series, I saw a certain beautiful scene for him and cried for him.

Mihawk backstory must be very melancholic

Mihawk backstory must be very melancholic
Yeah it will be 100%.

His dialogue with Crocodile further emphasised that and he looked like he had a rough childhood from Oda's drawing. He experienced a great betrayal and has a lot of serious pride and honour too.

Plus he sails around on a coffin boat with green candles that associate with the underworld and death. Maybe voodoo too.

I really can't wait until we learn more about him, hopefully it won't be doomed to SBS though.

When he told Zoro the history of the island they were on too, I suspected it's personal to Mihawk somehow too.

A guy who doesn't go all out hunting rabbits (the terminology celestials use for slave hunts too) chasing a low level threat/villain from the new world to east blue? On a mere coffin boat and alone too? Mihawk HATES his guts for sure and I think him apparently killing Krieg off in the live action attest to this too.

Poison weapons were used to win the war on Mihawk's island IIRC and Krieg liked to use poison gas...

This might be nonsense ofc but I refuse to believe anyone amd of all people Mihawk especially and a guy alone in his coffin boat would chase a fodder opponent from the most dangerous, influential sea to the another sea entirely across the world.

Also don krieg and gin showed up on pirate island recently, where Blackbeard is stationed and perona and moria are too. Coincidence? I think not. Fate? Definitely!

Oda set up Perona and Mihawk for a reason. There's a theme of foster fatherhood with almost all the warlords too. Plus both moria and mihawk are goths and have melancholic backgrounds too.

Mihawks tragedy so far is more implied and subtle but I'm certain he's got an extremely dark and sad backstory somehow.

Me and my friend have theorised he was forced to kill his former crew and thus the coffin boat and candles represent their deaths and his mourning for them.all speculation though ofc. He's a morose character but he has a heart of gold deep down, he's honorable and more caring than he likes to admit and show.
