the chapter starts with rishi getting praised for scoring the highest mark, revealing to his classmates his ambition to become a better legalist than jun sensei and he'll build for his himself riches and power then look down on the others (like his classmates) from above. then arrives kanpishi,with the news that he scored a perfect mark,while rishi only had one wrong answer. everyone is shocked and meet him
grown up kanpishi reveals to rishi that youka knew about rbk's trap and let kanki meet his demise and that's he's a double agent. rishi is shocked and is angrily asking how he knew about youka and all of these details in the first place and why he's telling him that. kps says that han's intelligence is more powerful than he can imagine. he continues by saying that after a meticulous investigation,it came to light that during seikyou's rebellion,youka who was sbk's spy wanted to deliver to him the news that ryofui and kakukai were in contact with each others behind the scenes. but because rishi,was serving ryofui,the messenger who was supposed to deliver the message to the qin king was stopped (killed). it was then when kps knew about youka and tempted him with money.
kps asks rishi if it was then when he decided to acquire of his services,then reveals that according to him,youka has '' bosses '' in zhao,wei,chu and qi (4 states + qin). he promised to betray qin and work as a double agent for every kingdom in exchange for money. in reality,he's a triple agent and even quadruple agent. that's why it's difficult to deduce which country he truly has allegiance for. however,the information they have on him now is that he's been working under rbk for a year now. and rishi is still shocked by every revelation from kps about youka.
kps continues by saying that under youka is a network spread in all 7 kingdoms and they all answer to him. and because of this,they consider youka as the most dangerous person in all of china and that very monster was included into qin's den willingly by rishi. rishi asks if youka really knew about rbk's trap,which kps says that youka is hidden under kakukai's shadow,while in reality,he's working for rbk
rishi loses it and promises to make youka confess everything. kps prompts rishi to hurry up since this meeting will make youka anxious that his secrets will be revealed and thus more prone to disappear as fast as possible. rishi says it's obvious and that he shouldn't interfere since this is qin's matter,and kps says he's right
rishi says he's done with their conversation and asks why he got involved in espionage since he never imagined him to do so since their youth as students under jun sensei. kps says that he wanted to know more about the world and how it workd and that's why he closed his books. rishi says he'll go to trial in qin and will never be able to return safely to han after this,which kps says it can't be helped
(this is gonna get kinda emotional between the two) rishi says that he despises him,and that because of him,he always came second place and couldn't beat him no matter how hard he tried and stayed late at night. but despite it all,he laments how this talent of his couldn't become famous in han's court and he'll end being dragged to court in qin. if he wasn't stuttering,he could've been a prime minister and carved his name in the annals of history in any kingdom he set foot in
kps thanks rishi. because of his stuttering,he got isolated and dedicated himself in writing nonstop and that even if his name wasn't carved in history,rishi will be able to revive in the future generations. he finally reveals to him that the reason he always came as number 1 is because of him,and that he worked so hard until his hands bled to make sure he didn't lose to him. he considered him as someone truly special and thanks to him,he continued to improve and expand his knowledge. because of it all,both of them helped each other reach the success/point they're in now
