“Han will not fall!” Raku’a Kan finishes his speech, and the Han are bursting with morale. The Qin army starts to lose morale knowing they’ll be fighting against that Han army soon. Han’s vice-general Haku’ou Koku also starts a morale boosting speech. “We have honed our skills, our bodies, and our minds into the pinnacle of what it means to be a soldier in order to protect our homeland! We are the pride of Han, the strongest true army!” The Qin army starts to falter and notes that Han army’s morale keeps getting higher. Haku’ou Koku continues his speech, “In contrast to us, the weaklings gathered here were conscripted and dragged here. They can’t even be called soldiers! The difference in our strength is overwhelming!” The Qin army wonders if that’s true and questioning the efficacy of their training. Haku’ou Koku continues, “Moreover, we outnumber them by 30,000! This is already our victory! However, don’t hold back! Our enemies are evil invaders! We will bring down the iron hammer of justice and pulverize these Qin demons!”
What the actual fuck is Hara trying to write here? Not only do the other states not even know the capabilities of Han's generals, but their soldiers haven't participated in an actual war since the Coalition Invasion 11 years. Bro is hyping up fodder for what?

Lmfao Shin is the new Luffy. Don't ever compare this clown to the Gigananji.
I always knew coalition Kou Yoku could lowdiff coalition Shin with Bakuya but now I'm questioning if even current Shin stands a chance vs coalition Kou Yoku

Ok, I feel like we're putting too much stock into this Rokuomi statement that was definitely added for either a dramatic or comedic effect. This one statement doesn't change the on-panel feats that Shin has which straight shit on everything Rokuomi has ever done.
Shin gets crazy amps in real fights
He probably can't make use of his weight in practice too.

Summary, TKC:
Chapter 816: The Vice Commander’s Speech

Tou comments that what Haku’ou said is an interesting theory then asks for everyone to lend him their ears. Rokuomi starts a chant for Tou of the Six Great Generals and everyone joins in. Tou starts his speech, “A proper army that has undergone extensive training versus an army of fresh recruits that has been scraped together. Anyone would think that alone would heavily determine which side is superior. However, that is not the case. The strength of an army is not determined by how many drills they have run, but by how many actual battles they have fought! How many bloodbaths they’ve survived! How many victories they’ve accomplished while crawling through blood of their enemies and allies! Those experiences determine the level of an army’s strength! The Han army is a proper army that has spent its time training, but they have not experienced a large battle in dozens of years! They’ve survived nothing! What strength do they possess?! Half of our Qin army this time are fresh recruits but leading them are the Hi Shin Unit and the Tou Army!

Do you know why the Hi Shin Unit is strong?! They received their name directly from a former Six Great General, Ouki, and took the head of General Fuuki when they were just a 100 man unit! They continued these challenging battles for more than 10 years, and although they suffered numerous losses, they continued to survive on! That is why they are strong! And the Tou army were originally part of the Ouki army during the golden age of the previous Six Great Generals! In other words, we are the Ouki army who were feared as the strongest of that era! That is why we are strong! Even if we are mostly fresh recruits, the strength of the Tou army will not waver! We are the strongest, and the ones to sink into these plains will be the Han army! Isn’t that right, Vice Commander Ri Shin?!”

Everyone, including Shin, is shocked that he is the vice commander. The HSU lets up a cheer, but Tou tells Shin that the fighting will start soon so he needs to finish the speech Tou started. Shin begins by declaring “I am the Vice Commander of this 160 thousand man Qin army, Ri Shin! And I will be a great general under the heavens and etch my name into history! For that reason alone, I have dived headfirst into killing fields, slain my enemies, and accomplished many military feats! I have risen this far after starting as a slave! However, reaching the summit starts now! That’s why the Hi Shin Unit is going to run full speed into even harsher battles! Got it, you bastards?!” The Hi Shin Unit cheers out that that’s exactly what they want. Shin continues “All you new recruits in the Hi Shin Unit, listen up! This army is more passionate, spills more blood, and accomplishes more feats than anywhere else! We did nothing but lose to Rokuomi during training, but in a real battle, we’re far stronger!” Rokuomi does not appreciate this comment. “Our targets are the heads of the enemy generals, and we will take them! So trust your commanders and the veterans and follow them into battle! Even if you vomit blood and collapse, rise up to follow them and fight!”

Rokuomi bodied Shin in training

Shin officially confirmed as Vice-general, now all that's left is becoming 6GG after Han's conquest and my prediction will be perfect.

Losing to Rokuomi in training though? WTF? How does that even happen?

Pretty sure the statement is referring to army training drills not actual 1v1 combat

it just means Rokuomi’s trained soldiers are better than Shin’s soldiers (granted they both have fresh recruits but the former has more experience overall)

That makes sense. I could see Shin's lot being a bit sloppier on drills compared to the former Ouki Army.

Decent chapter. Not happy waiting 2 weeks for a pep rally but it what it is.

Same for his instinct

pretty sure Shin instinct is pushed more in real fight than during practice. It’s likely easier to detect fire when there is real danger.
Part of why I don't like the Instinctual Type shit is because it's just a major cop out.

It makes sense for Shin to initially suck at "using" his Instincts at will in drills and simulations. Mastery should take time, but it should have some means of measuring, which there currenly aren't.

There are no rules to how it works, no mechanics that can broken down and understood, or really any consistency in when or how strongly it comes on. Hara gets to have his cake and eat it too. I don't like it.
