Overall Tou is my favorite of the new Qin 6 members. His writing has simply been the most interesting since their introduction and I don’t think that can really be denied.
Hara introduced Tou’s tenure as him threatening to cut down any Qin 6 who rebelled, and then Tou’s very first major campaign as a Qin 6 puts him in a position where he himself is forced to arguably rebel by threatening to usurp authority from central Qin in order to assimilate Nanyou. Literal peak fiction.
Rakuakan was really the ultimate foil for Tou. Rakuakan was at once a young talent who’s name soared across China, Tou was largely a complete unknown for almost his entire career until Ouki died.
Rakuakan in his youth defeated the old era GG’s like Gokei and Renpa, Tou in his youth served Ouki.
I actually really enjoyed how Hara depicted talent (Rakuakan) vs experience (Tou). The battle begins with Rakuakan showing a crazy ass encirclement that shocks everyone, but through sheer experience Tou keeps his composure, doesn’t over commit, and is slowly able to make choices that take advantage of Rakuakan’s inexperience.
I really love the scene in either 820 or 821 when Kanou is starting to flank Rakuakan, and the men attacking Tou make the decision to divide themselves in half to defend Rakuakan, and Tou just silently and subtly smiles because he knows that Han’s errors are starting to pile up.
You have talent which shows crazy and advanced maneuvers early on, and experience which weathers them and starts watching the minor errors pile up. And that’s how Tou ultimately wins. I liked it a lot.
Ultimately Tou back-seats his own final battle, which is great. Tou was never someone who sought glory for himself, he was someone who spent his entire career lifting and supporting others, never being interested in claiming the spotlight for himself. And through his own methods, Qin pulled off the overwhelming victory that they needed.
As for Tou’s Rizzler moments this arc, truly legendary. Rizzing up Nei, breaking his back but “it’s fine because I’m him” truly reminded me of Ouki levels of charisma.
Overall I enjoyed Tou’s battlefield end. Probably the second weakest battle in Kingdom behind KokuYou, which is still like a solid 8/10 for me.
As for Tou not wanting smoke with Riboku, anyone who ever thought Tou could beat Riboku was just hyping themselves up for disappointment. Let alone the current Riboku/King Kong duo currently defending Zhao. Tou would definitely be a threat but after Ousen and Kanki, there is only one man who can even dream of defeating the current Godboku.
On one hand I’m cool with this idea
Tou did his Tou, winning like a gentleman. with style, and in the end raising even above and handling Han politics
But on the other hand it’s a shame we’re never seen him again on the battlefield
I feel Tou vs GHM was hyped at some point and it won’t deliver
Same for Tou vs Kouyoku and Chu/Karin
Maybe we will have both. Tou playing politics for 3/4 years and then going back on the field against Chu and losing an arm after being a bit Little rusty against Yoku

Other than that, as much thoughtful his decision is, i feel it's bit selfish/personal on his end. He's soldier first n foremost, his duty is to deliver what his King requires of him.
If each GG decides to do that i can see why El Sei could end up turning mad king lol
