When an earthquake destroys your house, remember that only your survival matters so.go and loot your neighbors' destroyed homes and sell their stuff back to them, use your intelligence to enrich yourself and become a millionaire, then become a philanthropist and donate 1% of your money to charity and let the peasants aka your old neighborhood worship you for your generosity.

People say bill gates is a self made millionare, when his mother was on the boatd of IBM and ibm invested in microsoft.
One of the victor6 of moder capitalism is hypnotise the population by making them think that everyone can make it.
Which is simply not true.
If any of us has a ground breaking idea, or even a shitty one, we have 0 contacts to make it happen.
And this is the only reality, unless you somebody that will finance you, or you are rich yourself, the chances are infinitesimally small.
It is not random thay all these "self made" are all from the same univesities and same cliques.

This is not a study, this is an article referencing one REPORT and one SURVEY. Plus looking at the founding of those results, there is high reasons to believe there are high dosage of bias involve, therefore making those results unreliable from a sociological standpoint.
The simple fact that none of those report define what "self made" is when it is sociologically very tricky to answer is saying a lot. (you just have to look at the survey from fidelity, "today’s millionaires did not consider themselves wealthy growing up", I do not consider myself wealthy growing up either.. I was still raised in the upper of the middle class, so this survey is simply bonker from a scientific and sociological standpoint.)


In reality, merit does not exist. Being rich is the result of the addition of your social, culture and wealth capital and a lot of luck. You can keep thinking that you will become a billionaire just by dreaming that other managed to do it by merit, but this is not how it works. You have more chances becoming rich by playing in a casino.

Study from capitalist to capitalist are doomed to be biased because the reality is not capitalism mate.

The reality is that wealth comes from priviledge.

But hey.. you are the proof that the far right will ride or die with capitalism...
