Doctors don't earn much, considering the risk and stress and responsibility the job involves, it's much higher than what you listed.

See the frequent doctors' strikes in UK. It's a joke. Some of the doctors with decades of experience earn quite a bit, but it takes a lot of time to get there. Anyway you made terrible comparisons there.

I wouldn't pursue the career since it just takes too long to get a sensible return of investment. The higher end with lots of experience can get a relative high amount, but there are better career paths to take.

Medical care/ Education were once affordable in the US. The upper education system itself caused the increase prices there. As for Medical Care, the insurance companies are mostly to blame.
