@Blax Blah
To sum up, I was very confrontational at my arrival on this forum (more than today), I considered that people here were responsible of harrassment on Carrot's fans in the Nakama thread, so I came with a beef to call out this behavior. I used a lot of "you don't know X", "you don't understand Y", "you are toxic".
This created a situation where suddendly the 20 ish people who were banterring their Carrot's (and Yamato's) hatred directed their attention toward me and attacked me like crazy.
Moderators, Van included, didn't take that well and didn't like the fact that I started to call out the inaction of the moderation. Which left me with a threadBan of a month (calling me toxic for calling others toxic). I came back.. called out once again their inaction and the toxicity of the people here, same things.
I was not very politicized at the time, so I had a very individualized notion of systems. I thought that it was a indiividual problem at first.
After that, I started to poke the system and question the political leaning of the thread as I started to see some real conservative pattern, especially in the way people were talking about the women that were the subject of the "war" (Yamato and Carrot). This lead me to realize that the problem was a bit more structural and maybe political. Again, my approach was not really perfect, I again thought that by politicizing people, it would be possible to make them understand the subject and be less toxic.
In the meantime, the CarrotForNakama theory (Carrot will join af ter Wano) was disproven, which legitimated all the bullying that I faced.
I saw the creatiion of this political thread as an opportunity and I asked for the creation of asensitive section. Which TAC granted me. And thus, I started to develop political thinking and dive deeper into the questionning of the system of the forum and the methodology of the moderation.
By doing that, I had to label people and help clarify the political spectrum of this forum. So I used my different posts about diverses subjects such as the release of Hogward Legacy, the rise of the far right in the US, abortion, capitalism, meritocracy, to distinguish my political ennemies from my political allies. Thus, once again, creating a BIG target on my head because I also have the tendancy to talk a lot and disrespect politely those I have a big political beef with.
This included AL and Van. Which I labelled like everyone else or, more precisely, I refused to call a leftist (for various political reasons).
They didn't liked that, especially Van, who has been using the end of my theory (and a comment about the racism of some fans against nonhuman character) as a way to attack my legitimacy here since the beginning.
The rest has been a year of back and forth. "you said that, you are uneducated" "you don't understand" "you are not a real leftist", sometimes from both of us.
I consider that Van, despite his historical knowledge has a MAJOR blindspot concerning sociology, anticapitalism and most gender struggles which makes him the tool of the conservatist here and he thinks i'm a joke and a caricature of a leftist who can't explain things properly and does not understand what real leftism is on top of having bad knowledge.
In short, we are like oil and water on a fundamental level.
What do you mean the revolution was pushed by intellectuals ? What are you talking about here ?
also* pushed
Various authors, writers, intellectuals and politicians helped, theorized and nourrished the revolutionnary debate at the time.
The french revolution was a period of extrem social awareness and political debate. It's was everywhere. A bit like Twitter but in the entire streets of Paris. Intellectuals helped in pushing fundamental ideas through letters, books, essays and journals.
Today, our range of action is excessively more important:
- We have scientists who can publish and render accessible fundamental studies
- We have medias who can distribute knowledge very quickly to millions
- We have influencers who can vulgarize and spread fundamental knowledge in an instant
- We have a ranger of amazing tools to organize without even needed to be in the streets
- We have strong associations and a connected world that can spread a big info instantly.
Revolution will not be only in the streets. It will be on all fronts.
