But that is not what American Exceptionalism is founded upon. This is like saying Religion is inherently evil because people use it for evil things.

There's nothing inherently evil about a community who believe in some god. Just like there's nothing evil about acknowledging how unique and successful America has been since its founding. This is a thing a lot of political scientist agree with lol
It is deeply intertwined with a nation that has historically engaged in ethnic cleansing in order to “manifest destiny” which goes hand in hand with American exceptionalism. Acknowledging America’s crimes that have been committed in the name of American exceptionalism while still looking at the positive is the best position you can have in this instance. We are not as unique as you think we are, we have deep issues like any other nation and we’ve gone through periods of great economic hardship and great prosperity. We are not superior to others and in my personal opinion, we are not the most successful nation even in the Americas.

well this wasn't just USA, like Spanish massacred Incas and Mayan's/Aztecs, Portugal went ham in brazil, even French had shit going on with natives

It was just the way of people back then, terrible but it isn't smth people of today should feel shame about

It’s not about shame. It’s about recognizing and striving to be different.

White is not a real ethnicity or race.

Again, this is like claiming religion is inherently evil. One of the tenets of our republic is egalitarianism which clearly failed to live up to early on. Doesn't mean it is inherently evil

???

Back to the religion argument. Acknowledge a country is an unique and successful project is one thing, people using it for evil things is another. You decided to hate American exceptionalism so you're adhocing the argument to fit your worldview.

It's not what I think, it what probably most political scientist agree with.

"I don't want to engage you so I'll return to my topic that nobody was talking about in the first place "

Bro….

All i see is deflection and trying to white wash American Exceptionalism as an ideology that simply acknowledges American hegemonic power. I know you love America and see it as superior, but it’s important to recognize that at the very minimum, these ideas have been used as an excuse for ethnic cleansing and endless military interventions around the world. Religion is too broad of a term here. Everybody should agree white supremacy is bad right? Or are you saying that the idea itself is not inherently bad?

Political scientist Seymour Martin Lipset argues that the United States is exceptional in that it started from a revolutionary event. He therefore traces the origins of American exceptionalism to the American Revolution, from which the U.S. emerged as "the first new nation" with a distinct ideology and having a unique mission to transform the world.[5] This ideology, which Lipset called Americanism, but is often also referred to as American exceptionalism, is based on liberty, egalitarianism, individualism, republicanism, democracy, and laissez-faire economics; these principles are sometimes collectively referred to as "American exceptionalism".[6] As a term in social science, American exceptionalism refers to the United States' status as a global outlier. Critics of the concept claim that the idea of American exceptionalism suggests that the US is better than other countries, has a superior culture, or has a unique mission to transform the planet and its inhabitants
when did i go off topic
