There is no such thing as islamophobia , phobia is an IRRATIONAL fear or hatred , this term was created to shut people up from speaking their minds and exposing the religion , and you're a perfect example of that .
Yeah the term is often used when actually xenophobia is meant. Or bigotry against muslims/arab.

Islamophobia goes beyond the description of irrationnal fear or hatred for Islam. Just like antisemitism is more than the hate or fear of semites or homophobia or transphobia are more than the fear of homosexual or trans people.

All those terms (islamophobia included) are used by researchers to describe systems of oppression against certain people.

So, when we talk about Islamophobia, we don't talk about religion, we talk about the systemic oppression that face muslims in the west and in countries like China.

My friend from Bangladesh said it happened there, I know one of the mods here is Bangladeshi so idk if you can comment much about it.
there's law against child marriage but some morons do it anyways

the legal age for marriage is 23 for boys and 21 for girls

education plays a big part in all this cause most people who does such disgusting acts are uneducated in my country

I mean many people do fear Muslims and Islam thanks to some western extremist propaganda
no, it's thanks to the religion itself
this religion is all about conquering and forcing people to go back to the 7th century and follow the strict rules of their god , and the punishments if you didn't follow or criticized said religion ...... let's say are not nice .

don't put the blame on the west.

im an ex muslim btw

I think too many things are too vague for average people to comprehend
if you are a sunni muslim and aisha herself states she was 9 years old in the sunni hadith collections that are deemed credible then there is nothing vague about. and the prophet is seen as the perfect example of human conduct for all times.

thats why i think this "different times" argument is total bs.

ah no and even if you were Muslim I don't think you understand Islam wll enough

btw I m a Muslim who is almost a non-believer

but we should blame the racists who instrumentalize criticism of islam to push their bigotry against muslims as people.

then the term is misleading as fuck, since its named ISLAMophobia, but apparently isnt abuot the religion islam but just its adherents. thats why i prefer terms like racism or xenophobia, or, even if a little convoluted, anti-muslim bigotry.

average joes are stupid and your point is valid but do you know when they made physical relationship??
thats why i think this "different times" argument is total bs.
how so?? do you expect people from that era to have modern views??

I m not justifying anything here rather I m sating it was pretty normal back then

It’s because pedophilia and the age of consent are relatively modern concepts.
While this is true, there are centuries old folk tales dealing with the issue and showing it as problematic.

A lot of Islamic cultures haven’t fully modernized to the extent of the west. Hence I do believe child marriage is common in some of those countries.
In some US States it is legal.

did many of these past societies bring forth a belief system that is supposed to be applicable forever?
What do you mean by this?

Anti Islamic bias then. We should be talking about every religion's negative sides.

regardedless of to which political party public office bearer belongs to
😂Murica is a one party state

Anyone who is responsible for this should be fired immediately.

Also, it surprises me that a country so advanced like USA doesn't have houses build with flame retardant materials and roof sprinklers in a wildfire hazard zones
It's by design. Remember that fire in Hawaii?

Yes you definitely have a point. Doesn't mean all Muslims are like this. That's why the distinction between fundamentalists and moderates exist in basically every religion. Unlike Islam, Christianity was not founded by a genocidal warlord but once it gained support among elites they quickly made sure to ''fix'' that

Islamophobia is sociologically a form of racism.

Yes. It's a bit confusing but it was simply used as such because muslim were already using it that way to talk about what they were leaving. We can talk about the term if you want, but that's howit is now and it won't change very soon.

So we might as well accept it and talk about it as it is. it's important to talk about Islamophobia as a specific form of racism because currently, it is invisibilized and yet highly present in western societies.

i know that
im talking about the religion itself and the people who follow it blindly

not the moderates who follow the modernized islam.
