ah the drama, tho I am surprised that there's no one who would point out that from the beginning, from the moment of the mention about Joyboy, everyone was saying that Luffy is him. Maybe I know nothing about power scaling or power-ups but I am not mad at it. I enjoy it as same as people screaming at each other about who was right or, like here, fighting between opinions about series because both of them have power-ups... I should make more tea and get more snuck because oh my dear Mr. Go, there is so much to read here~

Naruto - from the beginning he was portrayed as being dissed by others for lacking talent but he didn't give up. Hardwork was his motto to make up for innate talent. But it changed the moment we learnt he was special from the beginning.
One Piece - Luffy was lucky and special from the beginning. Getting gomu gomu no mi, meeting shanks, Logue town (saved by dragon), everyone seeing Roger in him, Will of D, Alabasta (saved by Robin out of nowhere, and then water droppin on him after he lost to croc second time) and so on. FI literally hinted that Luffy is Joyboy.
Two different narrations of two different mangas.
Yet, you have people screaming this is bad when oda literally put this in front of us for a long time.
Only thing which came out of surprise is Gomu Gomu no mi being special and his awakening being linked to Joyboy
Honestly, if Luffy ends up being the reincarnation of JoyBoy it won't nearly as bad as the whole thing of Naruto being the child of prophecy and the reincarnation of Asura. The reason people hated that was because it ruined one of Naruto's core themes. Luffy being the reincarnation of so legend is something bad imo, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't ruins the character or the core themes of the series.
