General & Others Has Akainu been underwhelming since the TS?

Akainu downplay is as disgusting as Akainu wank.

hes doing what is expected of his station. as an Admiral he was the muscle of the marines. now hes the head.
I doubt that Aokiji as leader would have made the same offensive moves as Akainu did. like moving the headquarter into the New World or antagonizing some of the strongest pirates on the sea.
Akainu is actively trying to conquer the seas. he acts way more aggressively than Sengoku. feels like the same old chap to me.

getting his authority undermined by Fujitora, getting trash talked by the Gorosei and being treated like a yappy dog, or being too scared to attack the Kaido and BM alliance.
Fujitora would have undermined Sengoku or anyone else just as much.
the Gorosei are Akainus superiors. if anything he is trash talking them. they are well within their rights to put Akainu back in his place.
Akainu is reluctant, not scared. attacking the BM and Kaido alliance would be idiotic. Sengoku thinks that this pirate alliance is the strongest one that ever existed. all bunched up on a hard to infiltrate island.

During MF, Akainu seemed like a ruthless mofo who doesn’t take shit from anybody and who would do anything to kill the pirates and enforce Absolute Justice, but this changed after the TS. In all of the times that we have seen him since the TS, he was either getting his authority undermined by Fujitora, getting trash talked by the Gorosei and being treated like a yappy dog, or being too scared to attack the Kaido and BM alliance. Has Oda changed Akainu’s characterization after the TS?
Again did not give a fuck about Kaido and Big Mom, he would tear those fodders apart.

He was only worried about Ryumas legacy, which who wouldn't?

Talking about character development, not power levels
Nothing underhwhelming.... with greater power, comes greater resposibility.... Akainu as Fleet Admiral has to be careful where he sends his forces to... as an Admiral, he will just go and execute people however he sees fit.... more power means less freedom and means you have to be more careful not to lose your manpower... that kind of responsibility comes more and more as he gets higher in rank

KAIDO D. STRONGER

Maybe when he manages to hit the WB without any FS, we can talk about it, or even have attacks with decent speed in which even without FS and distracted the WB can launch and throw his magma aside.

I laughed a lot Maybe when people stop restraining themselves (WB restraining themselves with GURA) I can give more value to akainu. The author put him on an island to train after he lost to an old man in a wheelchair, who was taken out of his serum, to see if he could evolve and even after 10 days of training (his fight against aokiji, extreme battles is much faster to improve), after 10 days of training he left the island WEAKER than KAIDO.

Oh boi, another round of certain users educating us how trash Akainu actually is huh?
At this point u love this guy more than Akainu wankers do themselves.
:suresure:

Please continue.....it I'll be a nice thread to revisit once the crew is strong enough for Akainu to be near them while ensuring their safety.
Luffy is already at Admiral level. What feats/portrayal do Fuji and Kizaru have to put themselves above Luffy?

When in the fuck did i go into a power level discussion of Luffy in a thread covering the treatment of Akainu post ts, is everything alright ?

Whatever feats, portrayal or general arguments I'll provide will not in the slightest change your view of power levels, so let's both save ourselves some time here.

IMO Akainu is mischaracterized by fans to begin with. He is much more complex and morally grey than hes given credit for, even when he was a VA.

Achieving justice has always been his prime directive. He has always also respected chain of command. That’s not “taking shit,” it’s following the letter of the law, which is very important to him as he’s a strict authoritarian.

If he receives orders from his superiors (Sengoku in the past, the Gorosei in the present), he follows them. He won’t hesitate to voice his distaste, but “going rogue” is out of his character, it would make him a hypocrite, which he is not. Aokiji, Fujitora and Smoker to name a few will defy orders if they sufficient fly in the face of their principles. Not Akainu, not ever.

He is not a ruthless killer, nor is he mad. At Ohara, he weighed the lives of hundreds against the lives of millions. It wasn’t a decision he took any pleasure in. Rather, he did not want the lives he had to sacrifice to be in vain. Real life military commanders and heads of states, some revered, have also had to make such decisions.

Treason and desertion is still punishable by death in many parts of the modern world. Akainu has a fierce hatred for both, because they again undermine justice and the rule of law.

Like @Garp the Fist I enjoy the way his character has evolved post-TS. How Akainu navigates the complexity of being the head of an army while holding his beliefs adds realism, is interesting to watch and humanizes him. He has always been able to make difficult decisions and accept trade offs.

He hasn’t lost his bite either, and definitely has big things in store. He didn’t move mhq to the New World for nothing.
