It doesn't matter if you think shes a gag or not. She's turning Sakazuki into a homie if he ever steps up to her.
Can you imagine I had a last unce of hope for Big Mom's character before she fell into the Waterfall and turn into O-Lin?

She should first start and turn Jinbe into a homie ( as fanboys were telling me for months) during the three confrontations she had with him and then we can work our way up.

As an admiral, Akainu could take a much more hands-on approach to bringing pirates to justice because he was only in charge of himself and answered directly to Sengoku.
As a fleet admiral, he now has to watch over the entirety of the Marine organization and has to answer directly to the Gorosei. This is why Oda’s shown them clashing with each other several times; Akainu still wants to be proactive and fight criminals with his bare magma hands, but the bureaucratic bullshit symbolic of his new position constricts him and the looming threat of reprisal from the recognized leaders of the world is something he’s forced to respect.

Sengoku called in the entirety of the Marine Elites and the Shichibukai to face down one Yonko, and people really want to trash talk Akainu for being cautious about sending troops into a territory of unknown enemy forces, and TWO Yonkos? There is nothing wrong with Akainu post timeskip. We are finally just seeing him doing his Marine duties as a ranking officer, and not in a war setting where it is kill or be killed.
Not necessarily...he outranks the other Marines and can order them around as he pleases, but do you really think an admiral’s day-to-day duties include that much micromanagement?? His task in that position was to hunt down pirates and protect the CDs more than anything, that wouldn’t come in between him doing menial shit.
The whole point of the Fujitora exchange was to show his resolve in following through with his agenda even at the expense of his position amongst the marines. He’s an Admiral he has enough clout amongst the marines to somewhat get away with it as opposed to someone like Smoker.
Gorosei have higher authority than him, Akainu isn’t a pirate he can’t just do whatever the hell he wants he has to follow some semblance of law and order. Even Sengoku got superseded by the WG higher ups.
As for the Kaido/BM alliance he specifically noted the samurai were the main reason they didn’t intercept them and then they got held up with the Warlords hence not enough resources to go at a Yonko alliance.
You guys saw that one panel of him standing over Curiel and decided that was his entire character.

It's simply not his time to do anything yet. Blackbeard, Shanks, Akainu etc will have their focus later. Oda is just setting the stage after having Kaido scream from PTSD and had Big Mom run over by perverts.
Following that trend, Akainu and co should dread coming back into the story. I don't see Oda doing such gags with them though. Kaido & Big Mom are just the throwaways to fill time so he doesn't seem to care.
