I swear, I can’t remember another time Oda bashed us on the head SIX times that characters were nerfed in two chapters.

1. “Ryokugyu if any of us get hurt you’ll hang!”

2. “Damn, it’s impossible to fight here!”

3. “I’m summoning a meteor— NO YOU IDIOT!”

4. “There are two admirals here, if we were anywhere else they could turn the battlefield upside down.”

5. “The Revos are doing good even considering the handicap.”

6. “Fujitora helped the revolutionary captains free the slaves and Ryokugyu turned on him.”

And yet clowns will look you in the eyes and tell you Oda doesn’t care about the portrayal or power of the admirals anymore and that they’ve been made irrelevant.

So tell me, why is Oda going out of his way to preserve the portrayal of the admirals if we’re not supposed to be impressed by them anymore.

I expected the flashback to just imply admirals were restrained since it was supposed to be a RA hype flashback

In reality the revs were nerfed far more. They didn't have Sabo, they were focused on rescuing the slaves, attacking celestial dragons, destroying the food reserves all whilst battling on even footing with an admiral. Also, admirals actually had backup, tons of soldiers were seen attacking the revs so they had to deal with those too.

Also lmao at the implication that those nerfs even come close to what the Whitebeard pirates went through. Admiral fans spent the better part of a decade ignoring heart attacks, hostages, sea stone handcuffs and multiple crew mates betrayals. Pretty ironic you feel like you're on the other side of it now.
