I wonder if Oda would have allowed Sanji to use his fire power on top of the suit, but I also see no substantial reason he would not have managed.

Diable Jambe not hurting Sanji can easily be explained away by CoA.

Lighting ones whole body on fire and possibly sustaining that for 15-20+ minutes or even longer, with no adverse effects would be pretty far fetched.

On SBS 44 it made sense that the reason Sanji doesn't get burned is the fire in his heart, if he burns harder than the fire in his leg, Sanji won't get hurt.
