Break Week How can you enjoy Kaido in Wano arc?

I don't know if people going to agree with me or not but Kaido one-shotting Luffy and then Oden clapping Kaido, cheating, 100 hostages Kaido and all of that damn that was shit.

20 Years ago he wasn't even close to being badass.

Is he a badass now? I would say yes but I want to keep my options open because there is a big possibility he will lose to power of friendship and trust like Big Yonko candidate boy Bullet did in the movie.

All I fucking hope for is that Oda won't make him have some sort of Big Mom/Whitebeard weakness because I will fucking cry in the corner of my room.

Yonko's portrayal is already fucked up and the only one that has not been clowned yet is probably Shanks.
Whitebeard got stabbed by fodder and had a heart attack.

Blackbeard almost ended his journey in Impel Down if not for Shiryu's antidote.

I couldn’t just go and make a thread about how Akainu is a disappointing coward because he was hiding in the city at the start of MF because he was too scared of WB, he had to make Squardo weaken WB for him before he was willing to fight WB, he was too chicken to move an inch against Shanks, and we was too chicken to fight Ashura and Denjiro

Check out what I said above. This thread isn’t a constructive criticism of Kaido’s characterization. After the first paragraph, it’s just nonsensical shitposting and 😂 spamming. He’s claiming that Kaido looked like he was shitting his pants while fighting Oden even though nothing implies that he was scared, and he even used a panel from right after Kaido got his scar and lying about that being a panel of Kaido being scared of Oden surviving the boiling

I could not agree with you more. To me, Kaido is the most disappointing character in manga history.

When I first read Chapter 795, Kaido looked like a literal demigod among men, unkillable and blood lusted in a truly terrifying way. Then we get to Zou, and his right hand man is detonating WMDs with no interest in negotiations, and challenging multiple Admirals without an ounce of fear. I could not believe how terrifying Kaido and his crew were for a series like OP.

At first.

The Kaido we got in Wano, is as lame and disappointing as pre-Wano Kaido was awesome. First he appears as a drunken fool who would sooner have the monster non-negotiator Jack play the role of retconned cute little recruiter/diplomat than he would just kill Shutenmaru for messing with his plans.

Then Kaido is screaming at his own men in fear to “please stop Big Mom!!” Instead of just flying over to her himself and fucking shit up personally.

Then he is shitting his pants at the idea of fighting Oden alone as Oda wanks the uninteresting Oden to high heaven at the expense of whatever redeemability Kaido could’ve hoped to desperately cling onto.

Kaido was introduced as a fearless insane monster intent on destroying the world. But Oda either intentionally mislead us or just straight up retconned Kaido, because the Kaido we got is a scared panicking bitch with no intimidation factor and no reason to take him seriously as an antagonist.

Most disappointing manga character I’ve ever read.

I can feel you breather, The only purpose of Kaido as character is to hype Oden and that's all, no matter how ridiculous it's sounds I wouldn't be surprised if Oda reviles that Oden was stronger than Roger, at this point I'm ready to anything.

Why didn't other Yonkos take advantage of Blackbeard who just became a Yonko, was weakened after a fight against Whitbeard and Admirals and didn't have as much military power as other Yonkos?

But as I said we don't know how strong Kaido got since then.

We know that perhaps Zoro will be meant to be the new Oden in this one arc. This would mean that Current Zoro could be stronger than Oden and yet not good enough to 1v1 Kaido alone.

It doesn’t matter how long Kaido has been hyped for, all of that has been undermined by Oden. You can’t pretend like Oda didn’t use Kaido as Oden’s hype tool and not the other way around. That happened, as much as we wish it didn’t.

So even if Kaido serves as the main antagonist to Wano, he has already been undermined unfortunately.

I'm not sure how the takeaway from Oden's Flashback is that "Kaido was scared of Oden." This is the same guy who ordered his men to remove the seastone chains from Big Mom as soon as they brought her to him.

Perhaps he's just not the battle hungry maniac that most people believe him to be, and he understands that it much better to win a battle with as few casualties as possible, rather than risk losing forces. Especially Kaido of 20 years ago who is just starting to build his Empire.

And that's another thing people don't seem to understand, or rather just refuse to acknowledge. The Kaido of today is leaps and bounds stronger than his 20 year younger counterpart. The Kaido of 20 years ago was Moria's rival. The Kaido of today is comparable to Whitebeard, and known as the Strongest Creature alive.

Not sure how people are just starting to come to this revelation that Kaido has not always been the Monster that he is today. We are literally told in his introduction that he has suffered 7 defeats in the past. This is not new information.

But honestly this looks to be more so an Oden wank thread, rather than a character analysis thread.

There was no hype around Akainu before his introduction so him being a caword is just a fact otherwise I would have made a thread about Akainu.
