Questions & Mysteries How did teach scar shanks

The fact that Teach dropped using his claw weapon, (which was strong enough to wound Shanks in close combat) should tell you that how effective Yami DF is against the non-DF users as well, not only against DF users.

He stomped the Impel down guardians with AoE.

He destroyed 1000 bazooka squad with ease.

Jinbe says Teach helped Luffy's group a lot by doing that.

He destroyed a town and Burgess was afraid of getting hit by Teach's power.

Burgess was afraid, even when he knew that Teach can choose the people he can pull.

Teach chooses not to pull Ace with his black hole gravity, he has full control over it.

He says ''not even light'' can escape from his power.

He pulled the marine soldiers in the war, who are probably not DF users.

It makes me wonder. Shanks wasn't off guard which means he was using CoO probably.
Teach stronger Haki? or souls/bodies theory true?

Damn Teach is more and more interesting with each year passing by.
Observation haki is useless if you're in a situation where you cannot dodge. So he was either pinned down, or Blackbeard was faster??

BB always plays just the games he is sure to win and/or has made a plan for it (Magellan). Yet he is a beast even physically, that mosy likely was a pre yami BB (of course) vs a Shanks who had yet to develop top tier CoC and also not yet to the stage of contender for the WSS title. They both were strong but still developing. Then Shanks took the CoC and physical road neglecting df totally while BB on the other hand went heavy on df developing his yami powers more than anything (and now for sure he worked on the gura) while not getting coc (at least as far as we know). So in a certain sense the opposite of Shanks. It would be interesting to see if he has at least, like it would be normal, good levels of CoA and CoO and if now he has CoC too but if he somewhat lacks proper haki imo Oda is preparing some df vs haki huge revelation by eos which will be played by Shanks, all haki and no df, and BB, all df and no haki. And this will symbolize 2 opposite visions (maybe the 3 df types could be related to the 3 types of haki) which will collide. Shanks loses, BB rises even more. And finally we have Luffy who melts the 2 ways in his own (haki and df fused like with G4, but something more since Kata can already use flame pattern haki along with BM etc.).

Just watch Blackbeard having speed of light movements in the future:milaugh:

The thing is... I don't think this is about speed.

I've said this before, but what's interesting about Blackbeard and Blackbeard alone is that he's visually very... Unlike all the other fighters we know. He doesn't have a ripping body and a six pack. He wasn't drawn like this without a reason. That's why I believe speed was not what helped him scar Shanks. You say he's strong physically, but... Why would he then go the devil fruit road so eagerly?

He did something very unexpected and cunning to achieve it. But alas, we can only guess.

I fucking love that other souls/people/body inside Teach.
For now, I will stick to my headcanon and say that Shanks was on guard but..... he was expecting only Teach to attack:cheers:

It's still Teach who attacked him but it was a completely different presence.

A lot of it depends how old shanks was when it happned. Shanks being on guard as a kid and an adult are two very different things
I like to think that they fought when Shanks was rising in power.
It was probably a random naval battle on the sea between WB Pirates ( random Division with the addition of the one where Teach was ) and RH Pirates.

From the manga (and oda could have just done this to throw us off)
Shanks is covering his eye when roger dies
And when he asks buggy join him
And when he meets yassop.
Suggesting bb scarred a kid shanks but like i said oda could have done that to throw us off.

We can't know, because Oda hid Shanks' face during Roger's execution and when he asked Buggy to join his crew AND when he saw Yasopp, right? Very sneaky, Mr Oda.

Edit: never mind, you were faster HA001

Shanks is lowkey an anomaly. His feats/past dont truly make sense or at least they arent consistent with his status/portrayal.

Like pre DF Teach wrecked his face with some claws yet strong enough to duel Mihawk to a draw who was WSS shortly after Roger's death
Losing his arm to a lowly East Blue Sea King that Luffy One Shotted yet becoming a Yonko shortly afterward.

Like that shit dont add up and never has lol I chalk it up to Oda not knowing how far high the power-scale would be lol
