Tbh I took it harder than Oden, Bonney G5, Kinemons survival, or even Dressrosa's dragging.
Once I saw "El Hermano" any hope I had that decades of build up for Shanks were for something interesting instantly evaporated. Shook my trust in Oda's ability to cook stuff he had on the backburner. I mean we all saw how one of the most anticipated arcs ended up (Wano).
Shank's might still have some twists and turns but its unlikely him and Luffy will have any real confrontation outside of maybe a Davy Back fight. Hell, it's likely Oda avoids developing Shank's altogether by getting Blackbeard to kill him and having a flashback fill in the rest of Shank's "character".
I get Oda doesn't want his self insert to be a villain, but I was at least hoping he'd be morally grey. The secret brother trope also annoys me, and Oda used his one gimmie for Sabo.
This wouldn't have bothered me so much if they weren't twins.
