Powers & Abilities How does Sanji surpass Scopper Gaban if he never gets ACoC?

Does Sanji get Advanced Conqueror’s Haki?

Maybe the Power of Love becomes a really big thing for Sanji, but to be honest Gaban’s use of ACoC here kinda counters that point given he himself professes to be a ‘Preacher of Love’. So wouldn’t he have access to the Power of Love if it was an actual power?

Sanji hasn’t gotten a single haki buff since the TS.

At the moment doesn’t look like Oda is going the haki route with Sanji

(not saying he can’t get haki buffs just seems to be the pattern with his character)

Doesn’t seem like he’d get CoC

I'm beginning to believe Power of Love is just a euphemism for CoC and that Oda is going to serve us a "love conquers all" line when it's explained. :suresure:

I don’t think that’s the case. The Power of Love seems like an old world ability. Vegapunk and Gaban hinted that it’s inherent to the way mixed-races are borne and is inherent to their being However, Sanji is the only one who has been able to apply this to actual combat. The Power of Love is the trigger for Sanji’s genetic mods kicking in which should be absolutely illogical otherwise. Like how can one turn on and off their genes.

How do we know he didn't use that power? Love isn't just about romantic love, Gaban loves his child and that's what motivated him to go fight the HKs. We've also seen it with Kuma and Bonney. And Gaban looked really pissed when he cut Sommers. Him having a hidden power coming from his emotions isn't off the table yet.

That’s true but I don’t think Oda has time to flesh it out!

For now, I'm still holding on to the belief Power of Love is a Buccaneer ability to convert emotions into power.

Colon doesn't look like a half-breed because Waban has Buccaneer ancestry and therefore enough Giants' DNA.

I also believe PoL is the source of Sanji's fire abilities and that he has it because either his mother had Buccaneer ancestry, or Buccaneer DNA is the basis for the exoskeleton and/or the medicine Sora took to counteract the genetic modifications.

Basically, Buccaneer DNA = Hashirama Cells.

We need to realize something, Sanjis whole character arc just came to a close during Wano.

Figuring out his chivalry, his genes awakening, and closure with his family.

If Oda gives Sanji the same “I didn’t know I had CoC” plot like Zoro it wouldn’t make sense this should have happened during WCI were in the end game of OP giving him CoC wouldn’t make much sense.

I don't think he can get hotter flames through haki. The reason he can use blue flames is because the exoskeleton along with his CoA protect his legs from the heat of IJ, thus allowing him to use that power. But haki itself doesn't make his flames hotter. So if he gets black flames, it'll just be a visual representation of a greater kicking power thanks to CoC, but the flames themselves won't be hotter than IJ flames.
The way Sanji explained it is pretty interesting actually

It sounds like he can (hypothetically) generate flames that are as hot as he wants them to be. It's all about what his body can handle

ACoC would further strengthen whatever part of the body he coats with it which would allow him to produce the hottest flames possible

It's actually quite the opposite.

Sanji didn't accept himself until the end of Wano.

It wouldn't have made sense for him to awaken CoC prior to coming to terms with himself and resolving his trauma and lack of self-worth because of it.

Now it makes the most sense for Sanji to have it. It certainly also makes sense Oda would establish Gaban as having it before giving it to Sanji.

Him getting CoC before Zoro wouldn't have felt right. And the idea that he needed to get it in WCI because it was "his" arc, is arbitrary. If that were true, we wouldn't have had that whole development in Wano with him getting the exoskeleton and destroying the RS, all of this would have happened in WCI. Not everything related to Sanji's character development has to happen in a single arc.

Sanji getting Acoc would be so boring, he is already equal to Zoro (who has CoC) with just his germa genes, speed and amazing CoO, no need to diminish such an unique power scheme rooted deeply on his characterization in favor of even more haki wank

I agree.

I disagree.

We’ve seen characters who are self conflicted who awaken CoC in fact that’s the moment they awaken CoC. (Yamato, Doflamingo, Zoro, Luffy) WCI would have been ideal.

Sanji isn’t Zoro there’s no reason for him to be a late bloomer Zoro awakening it late is akin to Ryuma (who didn’t know he was called King | Zoro didn’t know he was a King).

You confused him with the guy that his character get sbsed and offscreened
Oda already confirmed in a sbs he is not done with sanji as oppose to others who dont get anything
