Since 2003 when the anime aired in Germany I was a lil kid back then 😂 now I'm grown up but I'm excited 2008 or so Kizaru teared apart the crew one of my saddest moments in anime
When ever it aired in america. it was a Saturday morning cartoon. It was the frum island arc and it was good. Being black are access to cable was infrequent to say the least. I don't know who dubbed it but I watched most of drum island before 4 kidd got their hand on it and I refused to watch it. Thought it was gay. And I was annoyed by usopp playing the krillin role. Though I started watching naruto and was so mad when they killed orochimaru that I dropped it and started reading one piece.
That was probably 07 or 08. But my first watch was probably early 2000s.

Don’t remember the year or how old I was but it was when Toonami started airing it, then stopped for years and binge watched from start to Marineford around 2011 then started reading the manga.
I'm pretty sure most people on this site actually only started reading the story after Dressrosa. They found One Piece by obsessively scrolling YouTube and the Dressrosa arc happened to be "popular" as related videos to other popular anime.
You know how.. crazy/stupid League of Legends players ruined every other fandom for other games? It's kind of like that. New readers are like ADHD teens who play League of Legends.
