We know that canonically Kaidou and Whitebeard are stronger than Akainu, and there is a consensus on the forum that Mihawk and Shanks are also stronger than him.


With Kaidou and Whitebeard being CANONICALLY stronger than Akainu.​

According to Oda if Akainu were the protagonist and received all the privileges that a Shounem protagonist receives for example:

- Numerous plot armors.
- the famous "luck".
- In extreme cases they even resurrect after being killed (Luffy).




Someone weaker as a protagonist was said to have the ability to finish the serialization in 1 year (In the position of a protagonist), stronger people would find and end the series in how long? , what we do know is that: Kaidou, Shanks and Whitebeard even though they are not in the position of protagonist in the manga, they were always very close to obtaining One Piece and that without even being the MC demonstrating how powerful they are, with Mihawk has no interest in disputing the throne of Pk.

Luffy already needed all the luck, back ups and power ups in the world to barely edge out Kaido in the 5th attempt, after Kaido himself acknowledged Joyboy's return and chose not to dodge the Bajrang Gun. With all the luck and charisma to draw to himself all allies and awakening his fruit because he is the "chosen one", 3 months may be realistic.

Yes, we know very well the benefits of being in the position of MC of a shounen manga and as I mentioned in One Piece they even get to resurrect from death, they are very lucky, they receive a lot of armor from the plot in their favor, they have the facility to make allies and escaping from bad situations etc... Akainu in turn would receive all of this, we don't even know how many times he would die and be resurrected in the process of finding One Piece, Lol, but we should look at that he would finish the series in 1 year even though he is canonically weaker than Kaidou, Whitebeard and the One Piece community do not see him as being stronger than Mihawk and Shanks, it means that whatever time Akainu ended the series, the other characters above would do better.

It takes those sentences like jokes by Oda, like the strongest mother and other stuff, anyway if Akainu started to look for the OP with the same privileges as Luffy (plot power, turn a lot of people into allies l, a**pulls and so on) it would be like if Wano Luffy (not end of Wano Joyboy) started yo to look for the OP. It could go pretty much everywhere, even yonkos HQ thanks to plot power and steal even their underwear (if WCI could do it with BM with half the crew so could Akainu). If it was WB or Shanks even less since they probably know at least the general place it should be (WB simply refused Roger proposal while Shanks could already know the place or not depending if he asked his crew). But in the end the point is that in order to get the OP the power is important but even more are connections as to get the clues to it. The minks were ready to die to the last men to defend Raizou and their road poneglyph, also you need enough luck to get somebody like Nico robin or pudding in order to be able to read them (but this falls in the plot power category of course).

Oda was talking about about Manga Serialization, not Story
The Story is decided by Oda, he can make it last as much as he wants, it has nothing to do with MC Power
(Just like he said he was gonna make OP only last for 5 Years)

But what they were discussing in Interview was about how to write an Interesting Manga & Oda explained that making the Protagonist too Strong would be less interesting & the Manga wouldn't last even a Year (Get cancelled or extremely loses it's popularity)

Pirate king has nothing to do with How strong they are rather how "capable" their crew is.
Mihawk said Pirate king is difficult than WSS because WSS is lone effort whereas Pirate king is the whole crew effort.
Throw luffy alone and he won't be even able to cross Grandline.
There's a reason why oda threw some light on
Navigators - Nami
Doctors - Dr kureha / Chopper / Queen
Ship wright's - Franky/Tom
Chefs - lmao sanji and Gaban probably. Luffy himself he can't become pirate king without sanji. He need his food.

And for oda saying Akainu can reach One piece in a year , ig he is using his current status as Admiral or fleet admiral of Marines and resources and technology which comes with it.

Pirate king is a group effort not solo.

And NGL Cross guild got the highest chance to take one piece now if they try.
