Lucci seems to be Zoro’s fight this arc. Their battle began the same time as Luffy vs Kizaru and hence I feel like it could last a bit longer than most people think.
Oda usually gives Zoro very good fights and hence I expect to see some pretty good showings from Lucci before he loses.
As we know, coming from his fight with kaido and king, Zoro awakened ACoC. This on top of his powerful CoA means that Zoro surely outguns Lucci.
Yet I think there is still a way Lucci could pose some threat to Zoro. That being by via his speed.
When Lucci fought Luffy earlier this arc, this stat of his was highlighted. However I still feel like Lucci has something up his sleeve.
See, we only saw Lucci use one form against Luffy. An awakened version of his hybrid form. However given how zoans have both a hybrid and a full zoan form, imo it would make a lot of sense if, instead of just having one awakened form, most zoans had two.
Luffy of course only has one due to eating a model of the hito hito no mi. But I think Lucci could have an awakened full leopard form in addition to his awakened hybrid form.
Whereas pre-skip, Oda treated Hybrid as the strongest Zoan form. He hasn’t really done that post skip. In wano, many of the beast pirates showed impressive full animal forms with Kaido’s dragon form turning out to be his strongest form.
Perhaps the same is true for Lucci. While Lucci can’t use his normal rokushiki in leopard form, perhaps it offers a massive boost in terms of speed. This makes sense as a leopard is far faster than a human.
With awakening, I could see Lucci’s leopard form showing speeds that surpass even Sanji or King’s. This would then prove to be a serious challenge for Zoro.
Much how Luffy is currently fighting Kizaru, a speedster, so too is Zoro. Both will overcome their opponents and possibly gain powerful new abilities in the process.
