We know that every few years Oda says that he plans to finish the story in the next 3-5y but its always a lie.

Is it possible to wrap up the story with all these characters/groups, past incidents & upcoming arcs with anything less than 200-250 chapters without a fucked up ending ?

We have the main groups

- RHP, CG, BBP, Gorosei, Holy Knights, Seraphim, SHP, Marines, RA, Imu.

Side groups

- Law & Ope DF's immortality, SHGF, man with burn marks, maybe Kidd Pirates and who knows what else.

Pretty much confirmed fb that we'll see.

- God Valley fb
- Void Century fb

Future confirmed events

- FMI destruction
- WG's downfall
- Luffy becoming PK and whatever his other dream is.
- Every SH's dream
- The final fight

Tbh i dont believe even 200-250 chapters are enough to cover all these things. Whats your guess ?

I expect 7 Arcs after Egghead. I once estimated 230 chapters (at a time when social media authorities like Artur said OP might really end in 3 years, redditards would tell you that Oda knows best and he said so) for those but Egghead is alot longer than I thought.

I was gonna make a thread on this myself, but at least 200 and more than likely 250~.

In egghead, we have the folllwing plot lines that need to be resolved.

-Stoned crewmembers
-Bonney/Kuma’s flashback
-How Bonney/Kuna’s flashback ties into the plot
-Kuma returning to Mary Geose
-Blackbeard Pirates
-York
-The giant robot
-The entire invasion fleet

This alone is easily 30/40 chapters of content. And we still have dozens of outside plot lines that need resolution before the series ends.

I can’t see Blackbeard’s eventual arc being anything less than 80 chapters, either.

I'd say the series will end around chapter 1200, definitely not another 300 chapters. All the points mentioned will be resolved in one major conflict similair to how there were so many different groups and events that overlapped near the end of Marineford.
MF was around 30 chapter and nobody fought seriously at all.

If Oda gives the "great final war" the same treatment as MF's battles it would suck.

I put it this way:

Oda basically flat out confirmed that Luffy is lagging behind Kid and Law's routes to LT in the end. This is because Kid's route led him to Elbaf, and island still hidden by Oda that fundamentally needs to still be visited.

This all makes sense because the island routes eventually have to converge to Lodestar.

This means, in theory, we have at least:

- Egghead
- ***
- Elbaf (Kid's route).
- ***
- Law's original destination (it was not Winner Island)
- ***
- Lodestar
- Laugh Tale

The ***'s account for any "possible" islands in between (i.e. Fullalead, Underworld, etc) since we cant tell currently if Luffy is lagging 1 or 2 islands behind Kid, then Law.

Then, this doesnt even assume the story ends at Laugh Tale, but rather Mariejois because of the FI prophecy. And if anyone has seen my "God Valley is Uranus" thread, I do actually think some event will take place on top of the weapon, likely near the endgame.

Give or take, ~300 chapters at minimum personally. Oda wants to end the story faster, but I think he's finding that even with a lightning pace, he cannot accelerate the actual journey because the geography he created wont let him.

And i cant see Egghead currently ending in anything less than 30-40 chapters at this rate, nor Elbaf being exactly "short".

@Bepo I mean, ask yourself: 1200 is 114 chapters away, and we havent even seen Elbaf, Lodestar and Laugh Tale yet in the least and we arent even done with Egghead. 114 chapters is less than Wano by itself lol.

It can done in 250-300 if Oda completely fixes his pacing and doesn’t pull another Wano, but at the same time his arcs (the important ones) shouldn’t be too short either.

His pacing has seemed better during Egghead since it already feels like it’s gonna end before too terribly long, but it‘s still too soon to tell.

I hope he doesn’t put a bunch of important stuff in a SBS like he did with Zoro’s bloodline. It would’ve been nice to see that explained in better detail in the manga.
