Future Events How many chapters before the end of OP ?

The issue is his climaxes last longer than his setup lol.
Wano is 70 chapters of setup, 80 chapters of fighting. Go back further. Dressrosa is 60% birdcage. WCI is nearly 50% WEEEEEDING CAKE. Enies Lobby is longer than Water 7. Thriller Bark and Punk Hazard have like 15 chapters of setup and 30+ chapters of fighting and running each.
So you can imagine that spending 2 years in Egghead isnt going to resolve much save for Vegapunk and Kizaru's plotline on Egghead. Nor the big wars that are coming will be short probably.
Then theres the entirety of Elbaf, which by default seems separate from the 4th RP plot since the Burned Man roams on a ship and Shanks didnt discuss his presence being on Elbaf. Then theres just the rest of it.
Setup is easy, payoff is unfortunately not

And you didn’t even mention the final arc and final war which going by Wano could very well be another 100 chapters on its own. Not even following the current arc, but if it’s going to take another 40 chapters to finish and Elbaf hasn’t even happened yet, then 300 might be putting it lightly. Oda could probably skip some of those unknown islands you listed tho or they’ll be short intermissions.

500 chapters(10-15 years), you also need to count that at some point oda will no longer be able to draw the manga so someone will need to do it.
OP will become a monthly release story and breaks will keep getting longer and longer, in all honesty: we aint gonna see it ending anytime soon.

Ignore the "war" aspect of what the series is building to. Geographically, Lodestar/LT arent remotely next because of the implication of Kid and Law's routes. Kid's being Elbaf basically confirms Luffy will go to Elbaf, then some other island at least before Lodestar, possibly focusing on the Burned Man/4th RP.
This also "really" doesnt include anything with the WG if they do not leave Mariejois.

Pet theory of mine is Oda is following a rule of 15 locations for the New World. Not necessarily planned with pre-ts, but potentially post, regardless of story or chapter length:
- Reverse Mountain = Fishman Island
- Whiskey Peak = Punk Hazard
- Little Garden = Dressrosa
- Drum = Zou
- Alabasta = WCI
- Jaya = Wano
- Skypiea = Egghead
- LRLL = Fullalead/Underworld
- Water 7 = Elbaf
- Enies Lobby = Law's Destination/4th RP
- Thriller Bark = Lodestar
- Sabaody = Laugh Tale
- Amazon Lily = New Marineford
- Impel Down = Mariejois
- Marineford = God Valley (imo the flying weapon Uranus)
Again, Some of these will be short (Zou length), so its not like we have 8 more full length arcs after Egghead

Egghead is at the climax, so it might end fast or slowly.
There will be an arc about the crew going to an Autumn island. Maybe Drum Island arc length, but if longer, it shouldn't be longer than Skypiea. It shuold cover the Enel/Moon stuff going on.
Then there's Elbaf which will definitely tackle the Capone Bege and Lola stuff, and Loki stuff. That could be the main plot of the arc, and the villain is Buggy. That can be 30 chapters.
Then maybe a small arc about Hinokizu. Then, Laugh Tale. Finally, the final battle. A little bit more than 150 chapters left.

Imagine near the end if laughtale location is revealed to many factions at once, and literally everyone including imu and WG, beeline straight for laughtale. The war would be absolutely crazy, but afterward the straw hats claim the prize.
