I speak fluent Vietnamese since I'm probably the only Vietnamese person in this forum lol.
I took French back in Vietnam and I thinks I know like 30% of French xD. I speak and write just fine but not master it yet.
And then English is my third language and I find English to be more easier than French lmao.
I also took Spanish and Italian in school and it's kinda easy for me (I know more Spanish than Italian lol).
And then I took Japanese in my freshman high school year and I totally regretted lol:believe::believe:

English
Vietnamese (can understand it but can't write it, and I speak it at a 3rd Grade level lol)

barely Japanese (I can watch some anime/japanese shows w/o subtitles sometimes but not always lol)
Oh snap, and I thought I was the only Vietnamese speaker in this forum:finally::finally::finally:

They are Scandinavian languages, right?
Are they similar case like Polish and Russian languages?

I mean that you can understand them because they are similar or it's completely different?
I'm swedish, and norweigan and danish are very similar as they're part of the same language group, so the vocabulary is mostly the same, only differing in spelling. They're mutually intelligible languages and one could even say they're different dialects once you've learned some basic word differences and overcome some of the differences in pronouciations (danish is the absolute worst when it comes this and it takes effort for me to understand spoken danish, but I get by) I consider it as basically different dialects with many similarities. For instance some things that are spelled virtually the same in danish and swedish sound completely different by a danish speaker because the spoken language is so different, with swedish being a very soft language and danish much rougher, the words shortened and swallowed up, some consonants are not emphasised like in swedish, etc. Danish sounds bascially like a drunk and rambling swedish person :)

Unfortunately english becomes the way to cross some of these language barriers which I think is just mad. It is virtually the same language. I don't know how russian compares to polish but a friend of mine once said the similarity between the nordic languages is like the similarity between bulgarian and serbian, but I don't know too much about the similarities and differences between the slavic languages though I have a lot of slavic roots from way back in my lineage

I am Brazilian. My mother language is Brazilian Portuguese. I work as a German Teacher at a language school here. I lived in Germany for two years, where I learned German and was introduced to Latin. I love languages, so I studied English and now I am learning Japanese. Esperanto is also a dream of mine.

Only spanish xD
English, let's say I can in reading I understand most of the ideas (although there are people who do not believe it here xD), in writing it makes it a bit difficult for me to speak and I don't dare xD. But it's not like I don't read things in English. But I'm always in the process of learning.

I learnt a lot thanks to these Internet forums.

You should read my posts in the mafia games and see for yourself if you are curious. :3

I see. Forums help a lot xD. Well, in my case, for example I've seen anime or another shows with english subs, also weekly I read OP chapter in english version too xD. I've read english papers and english heatlh info/guidelines too. And media like Youtube also have english subs.
Maybe I think sometimes I underestimate my english language abilities.
