Powers & Abilities How Shanks Beat Loki

I'm glad you know lol
it's not a scaling ting it's just Oda doing Oda tings :risisweat:
I'll always say this shit, when it comes to One Piece power scaling, the narrative will always be the most accurate barometer for that.
It was just two arcs ago when Oda had Zoro slicing up Kaido on the rooftop and then temporarily stopping a combined attack from two Yonko only to get ragdolled by King and said King getting negged by Aramaki who was embarassed by Shanks CoC :risisweat:

Just imagine if Loki joins the SHs after all of this gas:risisweat:
Loki is absolutely never joining the strawhats,he’s too much of a important factor in taking down imu in the final saga. he’ll be a Yamato done right this arc

The only one who can beat me is me
We will from now on (and already did so) see what conquerors haki interaction and conquerors haki specialization entail. It started with coating, went on with that passive coat and the requirement of heightend haki mass in order to surpass it and it will only go on.

Shanks is very likely not stronger in the tradtional sense, but there's just a layer to CoC, that's still unexplored and was only teased/spoiled twice (GB < wifi + Gorosei < knot), besides fodder getting knocked out. CoC has a suppression quirk, that's probably even its strongest quirk- it can overwrite weaker/less concentrated wills and therefore willpower dependent actions and abilties.

I think that is what was primarily up with Shanks vs Loki. Shanks is one of the few CoC specialized guys, who knows all about it and I think he probably shut down either one or two or all of these things at the same time: Loki's CoO, Ragnir's will to fight and Loki's DF transformation.

And I see it getting countered by either physically dodging (less likely imo), CoC aura shooting against it or simply coating yourself and a sentient weapon like Ragnir in CoC.

Hence Loki, who hasn't mastered CoC coating yet, might have been free loot, even though at his max he's nearly unbeatable otherwise.

Edit: And I'm also willing to bet that Gyrphon has a special ability or is a semi sentient creature aswell and helped a LOT in this fight.
This is probably the best case scenario for Shanks. I can somewhat see how Loki's inexperience with haki could do him in against a master at work.

While taking down HK Harald outright may be beyond Shanks’ raw firepower, something Loki managed to do, it’s still possible Shanks could outmaneuver Loki. Maybe a well timed use of Conqueror’s Haki could catch Loki off guard, and having future sight certainly helps. At the end of the day Shanks is known as the man who captured Loki, not defeated Loki. I think there's a nuance there.

This allows Shanks to get the better of him without outright being stronger in the traditional sense. Ofcourse, it would speak to Shanks' skill and strength anyway.

I think this is one of a few possibilities of how it could have gone. This route specifically is the pro Shanks route.

The problem with giants is the ratio of their base strength to their Haki level is way off. A 12 year old giant could probably punch as hard as an elite Marine. So you'd assume since their "base" is the same they'd have equal Haki, but there's 0 shot. But there is 0 chance a child giant has Haki. The Marine for the same level of base strength has way stronger Haki.

If you take someone like Hajrudin here, his strength could probably easily rival a Kong Gun. But his Haki is not going to stand up to Luffy, and Luffy would still beat the crap out of him.

Could you imagine someone this absurdly strong ^ being a made a fucking fool like this by G2 Luffy?

That's why people are too easily fooled by Loki's base strength. The base strength barrier for giants to posses Top Tier Haki is so much higher than humans, because Haki in some ways measures the relative progress to yourself, not just what you're born with.
