Kaido and BM would be more cautious if they are up against Mihawk imo. they might straight up block or dodge that attack without being reminded by other.

Not the same case with Zoro which they never expected that he can actually create such attack hence that reaction

They didnt expect a random to have some semblance of power to back up his attacks.

Whereas if Kaido was fighting Mihawk he would treat Mihawk as a peer and thus block/dodge.

The same way he treated BM by immediately going for his weapon and blocking her own weapon swing instead of taking it.
